Rain, snow or shine, someone just has to ruin Calvin’s good mood.

Even if the schools don’t close, Calvin can still hope for a suspension for calling the superintendent on the phone in the middle of the night.

It’s weird seeing Calvin with plain pajamas instead of the polka dotted ones he usually wears.

I guess Calvin’s family didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving yesterday. BTW, how did he get the superintendent’s phone #??

It’s a snow day from everyone except you. You need to come to school.

Snow Day’s in Northern Micigan Meant you’d spend the day shoveling the sidewalks and Drive way.

Would have been funnier if Bill had drawn a clock showing the time of this call.

One of our neighbors was our local school superintendent. I once asked him how he determined when to call a snowday. He went into a whole explanation of sending out buses on certain routes and coordinating with law enforcement on conditions, etc., but if he opened his door and the dog refused to go out, then he knew it was time to call it.

I remember being in elementary school in 1964 when we went to school when it snowed. That didn’t last long though.

I’m supposed to leave for Disneyworld tomorrow. I drove a little over an hour yesterday to stay two nights at a hotel room near the airport because of a severe lake effect snow storm that was supposed to affect the farthest reaches of NE corner of the snow belt in Ohio where I live. I just looked at the weather report this morning, and the prediction has changed from 8-14" to 10-40" of snow back at home! Here at the airport so far, just a dusting. Calvin can have all the snow I have back at home!

Forget it, Calvin! These days, schools can no longer afford snow days!

When i was in school , we almost never got snow days because although we were in lower NY our superintendent was from northern canada and his idea of ‘heavy snow’ was rather different from the rest of us. Many years later i was working for an annuity company and he called in-he had a very distinctive name and after taking care of his business i asked “Did you used to be the superintendent of a suburban NY school district?” “Why? did you go to a small suburban school?” We actually had a pretty good talk though i teased him over the snow thing

In the 5th grade I found myself in Miss Walker’s class, whose father owned the boat camp out on Bayou Texar. Me and my pals showed up out there on Saturday, introduced ourselves and expected him to offer us rowboats any time we wanted but, alas, it was not to be.

Cal’s pushing for a chat with the big guy come school time.

He looks good in a suit. In joke. The Superintendent’s main job is not to control the schools (ref all the asst supers) but to control the Board of Education. Once he can no longer do that… he’s/she’s outta there.

Where I live, the only time it snows significantly is when the center of a Nor’easter passes us at just the right location which is rare. Most of the time, when we do get snow, we might see a flurry but it doesn’t take much accumulation to occur before the city shuts down operations except for the snow plows. I told people at work I don’t want it snow unless I get out of work with pay. I can empathize with Calvin on this one!

If the Superintendent doesn’t want kids to call him at 3 AM, he shouldn’t leave his phone number in the bathroom stalls

When I was in high school outside of Omaha the general belief was that the superintendent would look out his window. If he could see his truck in the driveway, we would have school. (Not if the truck was covered in snow, the visibility had to be so low he couldn’t even see where it was for school to be closed.)

One morning, Strategic Air Command was closed … but we had school.

It’s the day after Thanksgiving. Isn’t Calvin out of school already?

School stupidintendents are always crabby.

Snow itself ruins my day.

Good thing it’s not today, that superintendant would get “Swatted” by todays generation.

HOW did Calvin get the School Superintendent’s phone number??

You usually have to go to college for a total of six or seven years, maybe more since the superintendent is usually someone with a doctorate. District boards care more about degrees than demeanor.

Well, at the age of six, all of us wanted the school to close down due to rains, snow or inclement weather. The superintendent should be more sportive.

I wonder how Calvin got the SuperNintendo’s number!
