He was hoping to make 1990’s the “Calvin decade.”
Calvin talking about self-centeredness when he wants to be the center of attention. How redundant.
Calvin’s ego is so big, a shrinking machine wouldn’t stop it from getting any bigger.
If I wanted to kill my shelf I would jumped from his ego to his IQ
I’m not sure you want that many people staring at you or focusing their cameras on you.
You’ve got that tik tok mindset
A late colleague of mine had a saying that fits well here:
“Self First. Self Last. Anything Left Over, Self Again!”
Calvin hasn’t thought this through. If everyone focuses on him, he will no longer be able to get away with anything.
Small children can be self-centred, but do little harm. It’s when they grow up to be corporate psychopaths, owning politicians who themselves are psychopaths, we have a problem.
“Gee, I wonder to whom that may apply.”
Loving Hobbes’s eyeroll……..
Oh, no—a 6-year old Donald Trump!!
Heaven protect us!!
And thirty years later we have an entire generation thinking like that.
And that’s what many did in the papers and now are doing here on GoComics, Calvin…
This boy will have no problem at all with the invasion of privacy in coming years!
Why Hobbes, whatever are you suggesting?
This is one of those “Don’t read the comments since they’ll be filled with obsessed people who only see the trait in their political opponents” type of strips.
Plenty of readers hanging on your every word and action here on the Internet.
If they did you wouldn’t get away with anything.
Every move you make, every breath you take, I be watching you.
Careful Calvin, if everyone focuses on you, they see the bad things as well.
Calvin is a genius in the first two panels.
Calvin and Clem Doolittle would get along great.
Does he really want all those witnesses keeping an eye on him?
I focus on you for a few seconds every dat …
If everyone pays attention to you all the time it’s impossible to get away with anything.
How disappointed ones are when they look at the center of the universe, expecting to see themselves, but find……Me.
This strip IS focusing on you
It’s disturbing how self-centered Calvin is. Reminds me of an ex president. The big liar lump.
I went back to the doctor
To get another shrink
I sit and tell him ’bout my weekend
But he never betrays what he thinks
Can you see the real me, doctor?
. . . and he grew up to be the forty-fifth President of the United States.
So many people love to sing this song—with never any pause they sing it loud and long.
The image of humility, that’s Calvin.
Projection – a primitive psychological defense mechanism seen in young children and Republicans.
Typical 6-year old. It’s all about ME !~
Thinking about others also applies to you, Calvin!
There’s too much of that going around.
