That quarter will likely be deducted from Calvin’s allowance.
Mom’s calling the Better Business Bureau.
Mom is thinking about taking that to court.
Such a deal.
and there’s the better idea to which I was referring a few days ago
Sorry, no refunds or exchanges.
Mom might want to quarter him
Pulling a con job on his poor mother.
That’s good, but not as good as the time Calvin & Hobbes had it out over a penny for Calvin’s thoughts.
A definite “Snagglepuss” Exit stage left moment……
Buy some more is a good idea!!
Modern advertising repeats ancient adage: more is better.
Mom’s “idea” will be pretty painful, and Calvin knows it!!
His mom does a great job of playing the innocent consumer in panel two.
yeah, better get while the getting’s good, Calvin!
Calvin is a regular con artist, or should that be a coin artist?
Future CEO of Target.
Guess what Calvin, you did just give Mom an idea. Cookies cost a quarter now.
Sounds similar to the coded message in “A Christmas Story.”
Not a good idea to swindle Mom.
Lather, rinse, repeat…Lather, rinse, repeat…Lather, rinse, repeat…
Looks like more of a going out of business sale now….
Calvin is reducing his inventory of Great Ideas? Who is his supplier?
Years ago, they used to have ads for these subliminal self-help tapes. My husband commented that the subliminal message was probably, “Buy more tapes.”
I don’t know if it was an actual con, or just a joke, but I remember a book called something like “How to Make Money”, which had all blank pages except one, and it said “Get another sucker to buy this book”…
Tell her to get two friends to give her a quarter for the idea, then those two friends each get two friends to give them a quarter … Throw in the word “crypto” as often as you can.
It used to be a penny for your thoughts. Talk about inflation.
But isn’t that the alpha and omega of Advertising?
Going out of Business Sale, all Great Ideas reduced to half price.
Leaving was your best idea yet
Mom’s idea is your grounded.
