If you really want Calvin to behave, him passing out would be the best solution.

If you want Calvin to behave, give Hobbes to hang on to as a hostage. If he is good, he gets him back. If not, she takes Hobbes home with her. Besides, Hobbes won’t mind, he likes girls.

Calvin should consider Karma. If he’s good then there’s no problem with Roslyn. If you lock her outside & talk with her boyfriend on her phone then hell hath no fury like what you are about to receive.

He hasn’t taken his bath yet, but he’s clean already. Did he scream himself clean?

Just think how Rosalyn would feel if he passed out. She would bask in the quietness.

This event actually happened with one of my sons. My wife and I watched him, sitting there patiently, doing a “hurry up” rolling motion with our fingers. When he finally ran out of breath, we said, “You can breathe in now.”

I think after a while, he forgot what he was crying about. Eventually, he figured out that this was too much work for no result. Then he switched tactics to bargaining. For a while we thought he would grow up to be a lawyer.

Calvin looks like the air raid siren that got stuck in our town and it took hours for authorities to shut it down.

Sounds like Mom actually tried someone else. Given past history, that would seem to be a waste of time.

Could always tell when my daughter was going to pass out….long scream, increasing to a certain pitch….then silence……and a scramble to shake her out of it…

My mind has drawn a blank. What happened last time with Roslyn, even if it’s just roughly where in the archives to find that arc would be appreciated.

I wouldn’t ask anyone who doesn’t know my kids to watch them and anyone who does know them won’t watch them. Fortunately, I don’t care about not having a social life because I don’t care much for people. The feeling is probably mutual.

I used to babysit for a “Calvin” – so “She was the only babysitter I could get” rang true for me – I was the only one who WOULD babysit that kid ;) Paid well too $5.00/hour when the going rate was only 50 cents……

Took my Granddaughter home from a wildlife sanctuary one day. She was about 3 at the time. She didn’t want to go home, and she screamed all the way back home. Didn’t pause for breath. Not a single real tear. I thought “dang I am impressed.”

Love the effects authors can pull off in this unique media. In this case, writing the “Augh” across all four panels to clearly signify Calvin yelling for the duration of the conversation, lol.
