Out has a different definition in the O.M.D. (Official Mother’s Dictionary).

I think Calvin needs a new edition of a “parent/child” language phrasebook.

Mom language is first, English is second, children language last.

That’s mom talk for “nice try”.

Sounds like Calvin needs to learn momspeak.

No, Calvin, I think your mother got it just right. Now clean your room or you may never see outside again.

I was listening to a young British lady explaining some equipment we had bought. She stopped when she saw me smiling. I said “sorry, I was enjoying your accent.” Without hesitation, she reminded me SHE was the one speaking English!

Drat! Foiled again.

It’s not called a “mother” tongue for nothing!

Forget English, Calvin; in this house you’re speaking Mom’s language!

It is tough being a 3 foot rebel.

If you don’t learn “mom talk” now, you’ll never learn “wife talk” later.

No, Calvin just hasn’t learned “Mom” yet.

I interpreted “pretty soon” as, “in a little bit Mom would say it’s time and we’ll go.” Mom meant “You’re already in trouble for not being ready 20 minutes ago.”

It may not be her first language but, what she says is the last word!;o]

I just want to know, how exactly do you “pick up a room?”

There is some serious Deja Vu here. That sounded a lot like my mom.

Mom is great at subtle hints.

In my family it seems my boys and wife don’t understand Dad. I often find myself saying, “What am I speaking, Swahili?” .

Maybe the statement from Mom should be – when you finish cleaning up your room, you may go out. When that happens is up to you.
