When I make holydays this year, there will be a 6 course meal for dinner. I think, that would be enough for Hobbes!!

I thought it was because last time he ordered the most expensive bottle.

Perhaps the restaurant is a tiger-free establishment.

Technically, according to Watterson, Hobbes is about the subjective nature of reality. In his world, only Calvin sees that Hobbes is alive (he does things that affect people without Calvin’s knowledge), but Calvin doesn’t seem to realize that no one else sees this. For that matter, the same goes for Hobbes.:The sad thing is that if Calvin and Hobbes were real, and people saw them the way others in the strip do, he’d eventually be committed. Think about it; if you saw a kid actually fighting with his stuffed animal, what would you do? If you couldn’t see that what he is reacting to is real, you’d think he is schizophrenic, and probably would want him on medication.

I love dad’s cool demeanor in the third frame. Stopped Calvin in his tracks…hahaha

If they had any sense, they’d take the tiger and leave the kid.

Great answer, dad. simplest answers (although incorrect) are usually best. My mom always told me the reason I couldn’t go back in the water at the beach immediately after eating lunch was “because you’ll sink.”

Who will have the greater adventure in this arc: Calvin and the wait-staff at the restaurant? Or Hobbes at home all alone?

It must be a family outing if they are taking Calvin with them.

The restaurant wouldn’t allow it either. It would be a great loss to them if Hobbes ate someone before they can bring the bill.
