It’s the delicate balance of prophet and loss.
O boy snow men ,but I like daffodils too.
Good heralds of change!!
I’m waiting very eagerly for deffodils!
I wish I could see REAL snow…
They’ve played a recording of a message sent to the Uk police on the radio. A dumbo woman phoned the police because someone stole a snowman she had made from outside the front of her house. Apparently she had used pound coins for eyes and teaspoons for arms. Crazy world.
Yes Calvin and no more snowballs to throw at Suzie..
very humorous Calvin… wish I had done that in my front yard.
I’d take great joy in their pending doom, Mom.
I’m waiting to see snowmen on Doomsday Preppers!
Desperate for snow in our High Sierra, 2nd year of below normal…..
I’ve got lots of daffodils here in NW Arkansas.
I used to love snow as a kid, but as I grew older I started disliking it since it usually meant more work and bad driving conditions. I’ve made peace with it again though . . it’s so pretty. It could stay a few more weeks if it likes.
The 50 degree days and the rain has melted most of the 18" of snow we received during the last three weeks here in the midwest. I am glad for the approx. 1.5 inches of rainfall that the snow represented. This helps to make up some of the 16" of rainfall we lacked in 2012 due to the drought. The farmers in the midwest appreciate the snow melt a will my lawn and my garden. Plus, the snow was pretty, once the driveway and sidewalks were shoveled and the streets were cleared.
Today’s snow creatures are tomorrow’s mud puddle….
…oh, yeah, can’t wait to put away the snow shovel and pull out the lawn mower; what fun…
The flowers that bloom in the spring, tra la
“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.”II Peter 3:13
What are you talking about, capndunzzl? Calvin putting more work into his schooling?
Then he would not be as much fun for us…
I’ve lived in Northern IA for 2 years, and I think I’ll take the cold, snowy winters here ahead of the hot, muggy summers in KY. It gets hot here, too, but not quite as hot, and not for as long.
I love it. Just as a throwback to Calvin and Hobbes back on the one day it snowed here this winter I helped the kids of the neighborhood make a large snowman with fangs and a wide-open mouth on the mailbox and then we put a little snow man in his mouth with foodcolor “blood” dripping all over… it was hysterical. We also used yellow foodcolor to give him one yellow and one bloodshot eye.
they’re doomed to wither and die too
‘The horror, the horror, the horror’.
I hate the cold and snow — unpleasant to take the dog out in . . . bad driving conditions . . . worried a bad fall will break something, causing physical pain and enormous medical bills . . . worried that the driveway shoveling will give my husband a heart-attack and make me a widow . . . the list goes on and on. If I never saw another single snowflake again the rest of my life, I’d die a happy woman!
However . . . Calvin’s wonderful snowmen never fail to make winter just a little more tolerable though!!!!! :-)
Reminds me of the old strip were they made snowmen out of leaves.
And what does it “prophet” a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Also, are there not some lines in Ezekiel (really not sure about this) at the end of the book that describe people melting?
HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA,
I can’t wait for spring. Last month’s Northeast blizzard sucked the spirit of winter right out of me!
Calvin you are too much. This is a luvable comics strip.
And pretty soon he’ll be complaining about the heat.
This must have been when it was warming up a tad. And, Calvin, WHERE DID YOU GET THE SIGNS?
