And the 1930’s. Photos of FDR were staged and cropped to conceal the fact that he could not stand up. Stalin far outdid this – when associates were purged (that is, murdered via kangaroo courts), they were even “disappeared” from group photographs.

people still use cameras and film? i thought everything was digital and on smartphones and tablets. which is more annoying at events(sporting, music, etc…) people who hold up their phones or their tablets?

The average picture is worth a thousand words. However, Calvin’s pictures are…….worth less.

Image manipulation is as old as photography itself. Dark room magic has always been part of the “seeing is believing” culture in the USA. I believe that is why Missouri has the reputation of the “Show me State”. Show me in the flesh!!

Don’t put on the tie, kid! It’s a noose disguised as a stripy strap of harmless fabric. Besides, who wears ties with a t-shirt and running shorts, anyway?

Why bring politics into comments about comic strips??

I recently saw an old episode of “Bonanza” in which the villian had himself imaged into a group photograph to give himself an alibi.Hobbes’ question is interesting – “Is this even legal?”

I am 100% sure he migth become a lawyer or a diplomat, spining every fact to his adventage

I recall the news team sent to cover the “big” demonstration on campus back in the 1960’s. “OK everybody, squeeze together so it looks like a densely packed ‘crowd.’”
