Oh well, there are worse things you can do with your kid tha wind him up playing with him.

My 4 year old daughter has energy like this. I told her I wish I had her energy. She complained, “You can’t take my Energy, ’cause its Mine!”

That’s right leftwing, who’s to say that wasn’t her plan all along? Wind up the old C-bomb for hubby and take the Ezzzzzzz way out.

This is why there’s dogs. I never heard of a kid that can out play a dog. And hey that’s just the start of the advantages…

Who would have thought Dad was a communist.

When my sons were little children sometimes I made very long walks with them. After a while I thought, now it’s certainly enough, they must be tired now and they walked home very slowly and I thought, they are realy very tired . When we were at home I fell into bed and they jumped again and were funny!

You know, that’s exactly what I was thinking!

It might be the first time I’ve ever seen Calvin tickled by anything his mother did!

My god son could have done that to me,too, some 25 years ago. I wonder if he’s still got that energy.

Little kids have more of a size advantage over their parents than an energy advantage. Since kids’ bodies have much less mass, it takes much less energy for them to move themselves around for a given time. The same thing is true for dogs. If a big St. Bernard tried to follow a little Terrier around all day and imitate everything that it did, the St. Bernard would quickly become exhausted. On the other hand, little kids can cause their parents to have sleep deprivation, giving their parents lower energy as well.The same is true for comic-strip readers. If the nighttime posters on this site tried to imitate everything that the daytime posters do, they would quickly become exhausted, due to sleep deprivation.Well, some analogies are better than others……

Wow… the most affection or time I’ve seen from her to him. And I thought she was just wanting to spend quality time with him; it still counts.

We raised three boys and have no problem relating to this strip. But, in hindsight, those days are now priceless!

I too like seeing Calvin and his mom having fun.

One of the very few strips in which Calvin’s mother doesn’t actively seem to hate him.

I like to think of Calvin’s mom as a good mother. We just don’t see most of the intimate moments because they aren’t funny.

One of my favorites!

I hated being tickled as a kid, mostly because the adults didn’t seem to know when was enough. They would keep it up until I was gasping and unable to breathe. To them, it was “cute.” To me, it was darn painful and scary.

I agree, Hobbes. And Calvin just thrives on driving Mom & Dad to the edge.

Gee kid or dog keeping you up all night? I’ll take the dog, when you get the furry one calmed down they’re nicer to snuggle with.

I believe this is one of the first, if not the first, C&H I ever read back when it was still in newspapers.

I always considered it a victory when I outlasted my son. Didn’t happen often enough.

Its a good ting that he didn’t drink coffee! Lol

Dad gets the night shift this time.

I like this one because in this one, Mom isn’t portrayed as the antagonist as she usually is.

I bet this is the first night since Calvin learned to walk that she will sleep THROUGH the night.
