Bombs away, with Curtis LaMay. Only old farts know him.
Gotta love that grin!
Thanks, formally, for reminding me of Curtis LeMay. I’ll see you in my nightmares …
Here comes Hobbes’s supersonic stealth bomber flying over others. And He got cleared to launch the third one.
Calvin’s imagination gets the best of him once again.
Love that ear-to-ear grin of Hobbes. So proud of himself.
At least Calvin wasn’t bombed back to the stone age.
General LeMay’s career also encompassed the development of the Strategic Air Command, the Vietnam War, and candidacy for Vice President. On of the most colorful and sometimes controverial Americans of the 20th Century.
<< On Thursday, JusSayin jus’ said: “@Hobbes: I don’t remember seeing Snoopy’s name on the front of the house, say when Schulz showed people approaching the front to do some work in the house, or even when good old Charlie Brown would serve him dinner.” >>Hi JusSayinI’ve posted a reply over at the Peanuts forum this morning, along with several strips from the 1950s.
Be prepared for a counter attack, Hobbes. That was an act of war.
Oh no, Hobbes, That’s not funny!!
do you wanna be the soldiers?
I miss playing games like that.
Nice shootin’, Tex – I mean, Hobbes.
And Curtis LeMay … I remember him well. I guess I didn’t really need to be reminded that I’m an old fart.
As a junior Captain, I attended a party in the early sixties that Curtis LeMay attended. He excelled at that game where one person tries to keep a straight face while others attempt to make him laugh, and he was particularly formidable as a laugh-maker.
I’ve spent enough time on the Net to read Calvin’s last line and think, “I see what you did there.”
The hand grenades harmlessly bounce off Calvin’s impenetrable head. Calvin must be Stupendous (Man)!
Tiger, tiger in the tree,Please don’t throw grenades at me!
If they were playing Calvinball, Hobbes would drop a cone and announce, “Here’s the ‘pitch’!”
“Bonk” is a bit of hyperbole for a pine cone hit on the head!
Reminds me of this diddy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PH5iI0Isb4
Barry Goldwater for President (with his VietNam speech) and Curtis LeMay for VP. Lets see if the old coots remember the speech phrase that lost Goldwater the presidential election (among other things). And yes Goldwater was correct about the Viet Nam war. From an old coot.
Hobbes’ grin is Priceless!
LOL LOL xxx
Hi, may everyone have a very Merry Christmas, or Hanukkah or Kwanza, or whatever, & a Happy & Prosperous New Year.
I Read Flyboys! So Yeah, I know who Curtis LaMay is! Good Book!
Didn’t Gen. LeMay call for bombing North Viet Nam back into the Stone Age?
Yeah, except that his running mate was George Wallace, not B. Goldwater.
I had no idea that Hobbes had that many teeth…
Those “bombs” look more like “pineapple” grenades to me. . . . (Snerk!)
General LeMay was a great patriot. Don’t put him down!
Never underestimate the power of surprise!
My father was his driver in Washington D.C. after the war ended and the USAF was established in 1947.
My father was the driver for LeMay in Washington DC after the USAF was formed in 1947.
@bluskies,Hobbes is only about ten feet up, and dropping, not throwing them. However, I get your ‘pitch’!
wow. now that was funny. but i woud not say the same for calvin!
