Haha, just signed my daughter up…
… from bad to worse!
Gee, I wonder who will be teaching piano to Calvin? Could it be Ros? (I hope)
Very clever, Dogsniff! I like that one.
Feeling bad about having no shoes, till you meet the man with no feet. It can always get worse, Calvin.
Piano lessons, YES !!!!
As long as Mom doesn’t haven’t to endure it, it’ll be however minutes long of heavenly peace to her.
Hobbes will be glad if there is a piano ‘tuna’! (That one works especially well in Central and Eastern Massachusetts).
Calvin doesn’t need ‘driving’ lessons. He has been driving his parents crazy since he was perpetually six years old.
“Ack!” Is Calvin related to Cathy?
In the 2nd panel: Calvin’s mother drives her car the way Calvin sleds downhill.
Since Calvin said “no” eleven times, I assume that piano lessons rank 11th on a ‘scale’ of 1 to 10! Calvin will make a ‘concerted’ effort to avoid piano lessons. He’ll be ‘composing’ various excuses. “Etude, Brute?”, I mean Mom.
check www.stephanietrick.com OR search videos for Stephanie Trick // if you might like to hear some fabulous Stride Piano
Now Calvin doesn’t want piano lessons. What’s ‘sonata’ with him? If Calvin plays his ‘chords’ right, he could be performing on the ‘Opera’ Winfrey Show before too long!
Violin! Even worser!
She drives the car like a Stuka dive bombing.
if piano lessons Hobbes can together….
Where’s his life vest in case he falls out of the car??? After all, he’s not wearing his seat belt… He may not even make it to Tuesday if he isn’t careful.
Taught by Rosalyn?
Calvin my cousin’s mom made him take piano lessons. He did not like it but endured it. Now as an adult has forgotten all those dreded lessons. Funny I always wanted to learn to play piano. Parents did not have one nor the money for lessons.
Yes, if she were smart she’d be getting him interested in being a mime.
Calvin wants to take driving lessons without a shirt, with a naked body!
Calvin had better put his seatbelt on.
She is being REALLY mean to him now.
Life isn’t fair is it Calvin?
I took piano lessons for years. Even some as an adult. I still play and I love it so much! But the lessons themselves I didn’t like, and the recitals were hell.
Most of the boys in my area took their “driving lessons” on John Deeres, Farmalls, etc – hundreds of hours cultivating corn and beans. Plus pick-up trucks (no license needed on own property) By the time we could get a drivers license, the road test was a breeze. (Imagine hours going down rows and having to steer plus/minus one inch left/right!)
Two of my granddaughters need piano lessons. Everytime they visit, it’s BANG BANG BANG on an old piano we have. (last tuned in 1943) But last visit, it was -thud-thud-thud. “Grandpa – there’s something wrong with the piano!” “Well, I’ll have someone look at it.” (I suspect it might have something to do with the towels I threw over the hammers!)
To my knowledge Cal’s parents do own a piano. I fhe practices, it won’t be there.
I wonder if the piano teachers name is Roslyn Ms Worm wood or the bus driver working part time as a teacher?
Why not piano lessons? My wife & daughter took them, enjoyed them and was excellent at playing the piano.
Well, a violin is at least portable.
He could learn Beethoven’s “Fur Elise”, Mozart’s “Turkish March”, and Bon Jovi’s “Runaway.”
What Hobbes needs to do is convince Calvin of the power over women you have if you can play the piano, even more so if you can sing along with it. Unfortunately, I can do neither, and at 68, it doesn’t make any difference anyway…Puddleglum – your crack about driving lessons was terrific – gave me a good smile, thanks
Oh, like he will be MUCH more cooperative with that.
What? Calvin didn’t get dressed after his swimming lesson?I’m surprised Rosalyn (or Mom) didn’t make a fuss.
If you let the kids make all the decisions on what they are going to do, they will do nothing.
11 no’s………………….new record.
…and on Wednesdays…ballet…
Au contraire! There is nothing betterer than Math Camp.
Heck, even “greater than” and “less than” are math concepts!
ha ha ha<<said with a sarcastic ‘tone.’
it’ll be Susie’s mom…LOL
i didn’t take piano….but my mom did sign me up for voice lessons…i’m not bad…..
Dogsniff, I resemble that remark!
calvin is a scrub
good mommy. good mommy! (pat on head)
If Calvin knows big, vocabulary words, how does he not know the driving age of the U.S.A?
