Ros is right. That life vest would fall right off of you.

Calvin’s, more likely to be pushed out of a boat than fall.

There is much more than swimming in water, you should learn! Rose is right!

When you fall from a boat, usually you don’t have a life vest on.

So what about when he goes down a hill in a wagon full speed and falls into a pond?

If God wanted us to swim he would have given us flippers.

What if you’re caught in a flash flood?

it is Try Calvin…………..Don’t give up!!!!!

Sink or Swim Calvin!

Calvin, simply put, I love you, you and your marvelous exploits just make my day…..the devil made you do it…ha, ha.

Exactly my rationalization, I’ve managed to stay away from bodies of water my entire life. Definitely do-able.

Ros, didn’t you hear me? I said I was going to stay on dry land all my life; so that precludes boats!

here, EVERYONE on a small boat is required to wear a life jacket. things like the ferry to the island are not considered small boats, but if you go fishing up at the cottage you need to have one on. still, lots of people don’t bother – and some end up drowning because of it.as for Calvin? he needs a vest that fits. if he went in with that one he’d sink right out of the middle of it while it floated nicely away.

Calvin, how long can you tread water?

Calvin has a vested interest in staying afloat!

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream…..merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.

Oh, Calvin…what do you plan on doing when Moe pushes you into the pool in high school?

Pirate captains liked crew members that could not swim,they stayed with the ship and fought. Calvin is a little late for pirate ships but some thing in that line must be available.

Calvin “preserves” the right to remain on dry land!

I think the life vest has to fit right to work. It can’t be altered; you have to swap it for one that fits.

Ros just suggest to Calvin all the evil things he could do while swimming and you will have an ‘A’ student!

Now Calvin is “invested” in swimming….

Calvin is so top heavy that the life-vest would probably hold him upside-down in the water and drown him.

Hummmm I thought the life vest looked like a home made concoction of 2 pillows tied together…. which made it even funnier…. to me!

What great idea for a final calvin and hobbes…calvin lying face down in a bathtub, in two inches of water while hobbes does something…funny..

A six-year-old kid in a seventeen-year-old life jacket.

The guy we had for a teacher at the community pool believed in the sink or swim method. He either threw or pushed you into the water and let you fight your way to the top choking and gaging! I remembered making it to the surface but threw up quite a bit afterwards. I told my parents I wasn’t going back and I didn’t want to talk about it. A few weeks afterwards I saw the guy in a store with my parents and pointed a finger at him and blurted the whole story out very loudly for all to hear! I remembered the guy turning red and trying to hide but I ran over to him and told him not to do that because it was a bad thing to do to children. He was speechless and I was five!
