You boys are so deprived!
Get with the times! Satellite and Blue Ray Calvin!
My dad gave me a collection of Twain books and I never complained about not having TV again. I was too immersed in the wonderful world of reading.
Sororityy Row Horrow? Arrrgghhh!
What a disaster! I am suffering with you!!
I like a twist in my gin.
I am pathetically relating my dial up dilemma to Calvin’s plight from the mid 90’s. No one should be deprived of Sorority Row Hooker. Er, um …Horror… BTW there will be a new Hollywood movie on Oliver Twist titled OLIVIA TWISTED with hot chick Ashley Greene, as a street gang kid – 2 for the price of one, Calvin…
That’s a new twist on an old Twist!
“Calvin, how much Susie do you want?”“I want Oliver!”
Calvin. why do you want watch Golf?
Even with cable sometimes there is nothing good on…lol
when my nother was a child she didnt’ have tv. she says they sat by the fire, at night, and told each other horror stories that scared them to death :)I’d love to spend a night like this!
My poor kids are even now growing up without cable or satellite. Bwa ha ha.
I still have a VCR for all the old stuff I have on VHS.
I might have Sorority Row Horror on my DVR, Calvin. You make the popcorn and Hobbes can bring the root beer.
lol, a VCR… how times have changed…
Only 3 channels and they were snowy, but we watched anyway. The beginning of an addiction.
Cool Cool My Boy…
Calvin’s dad was a Luddite a quarter-century ago. He’s twice as bad now.
Someone gave me a “condensed for children” version of Oliver Twist when I was a little older than Calvin. Since it was still written in “Dickens English”, I couldn’t even get through the first sentence! Kinda like the KJV New Testament Gideons gave us in Grade 3 (yes, they were allowed into a public school classroom!) — I gave up after the first 15 or 20 “begats”…
Only if you read it Calvin.
one for the dad
Awwwwww, Poor Calvin… I was trying to draw Calvin and Hobbes on Microsoft Paint today.. I only got Hobbes finished.
Get rid of the TV, and teach your child to engage with humans, animals and nature in positive ways, instead of sitting inside in front of a screen that spews out mind numbing garbage and radiation. What a concept!
Calvin needs cable,yes
Hey Chralvin… YOu Mished dha Hurrur Shho thunighth! Hahhahha!!
And no Tivo either.., Geee how mistreated calvin is….
When I was a kid, I often knocked off 30 to 60 pagesof Dickens nearly every night, as a substitute for homework. I didn’t get very good grades, but on October 27th I will be 68 and presumably still here. Sic transit gloria mundi…..
@Destiny23: You gave up reading the Bible after the begats?! When I began reading the Bible at age 14 I made up a whole diagram of all the begats.
The fault of the Founding Fathers for not including the Federal Communications Commission in the original Constitution.
Oh . . . the “Sorority Row Horror” of it all!!!!!
I agree with jkhandy. Calvin needs to get outside & play. Interact with animals & the great outdoors, & his friends. Especially in the summer when nothing but reruns is on. Just what Calvin is complaining about. If he had cable to watch, he’d always be glued to the set. Some tv is alright. But kids nowadays watch way too much of it. Even inappropriate shows.
I came home from work on a Saturday to find several nieces and nephews sittin around the TV and I asked “Whats up ?power out at your house or sometin ?” the reply was “We lost our remote” I went into a soap box sermon on when I was your age I had no remote and it dawned on me when I saw the classic eye roll that I have become my father
Oh Calvin, you don’t want anyone seeing you reading a book! For shame!
hey…Sorority Row Horror is already out on VHS…..
i missed calvin and hobbs, glad i found this…
Our kids grew up deprived too. No cable ot satellite, and still don’t have it. They know how to put together jigsaw puzzles and play games, though—skills they honed during our numerous power outages.
Give me a good book, and not tv anytime…
I know that Calvin is not an alter ego of Bill Watterson..but he is an alter ego of mine.He has the same “No holds barred” attitude when it comes to the distance he is willing to stretch the imagination..if it means getting a chuckle out of it…So many times I found simple joy in C&H strips over the last 26 years.Thank you Bill!!!
ALL I WANTED WAS CABLE!!!!!!
