ehm…. Dad, the polls are getting worse instantly
Calvin will think he’s not loved. Like his expression in panel three
I haven’t had time to read a book for a very long time, it’s only enough time to read the newspaper!
Smile, Calvin….I know you are feeling onery and want to hurt your Dad for not taking your plans seriously.,,,but
Geez, he already has Dad in a home! You’ll be sorry, Calvin!
G’Morning, Mike, Marg & Grog!
Nice one, Dad!
Fran650: I’m so sorry to hear about Kizzy! It’s so difficult to lose a pet!
I was out to lunch with the girls from my exercise group at the YMCA a few days ago. They were all seriously discussing the novels they were reading and that they exchange them with each other. They asked me what I was reading and would I like to contribute to the exchange. When I said I was reading Disney’s Aladdin with my granddaughter you could have heard a pin drop!
Calvin’s Dad for the win!
Calvin’s look in the third panel is priceless. LOL
This is surreal. Calvin’s Dad is just like mine.
Where’s Marg this morning ???
Calvin is slowly getting the idea that his is not the only life.
And then going on as if nothing had happened.
Wonder if Dad’s still reading the same book he was when Calvin showed him the number guessing game a few days ago
If Calvin continues going the way he is, I doubt Dad will live long enough to get to a nursing home.
Two punchlines in one strip! My favourite being “That was our last hope.”
I need to become rich so I can quit work and read more than my current 2 books a week
@FlyGuyP38…me too!! I sent an email to the “contact” page..got a reply that they weren’t aware of the problem but would look into it…that was last week and it’s still happening…
Take down the disgraceful editorial comic by Bob Gorrell that opens this page.
i like his xpression n panel 3! Dad’s punchlines r too much! LOL
Yeah that panel 3 expresssion is the best yet. Dad will have his revenge before he gets to the home.
Good Morning, Marg, Mike & ♠Lonewolf♠
I was reading Green Eggs and Ham!
I like dad’s dry direct humor.
Dad will be very lonely without Calvin!!! Lonely and abandoned!!
At last! Dad and Calvin are communicating! :)
I suspect Dad will live a long time, if only to get even with Calvin…..old age is the best revenge!
And Calvin won’t even pay for it, even with all his untold wealth!
I swear this is my Dad, and me…
Perfect word choice Dry. This one is “priceless”! I love Calvin’s facial expression in panel 3.
Dads right he can then finish his book.
Boy is Calvin going to be surprised when he starts missing Mom and Dad and Hobbes spends more time with Susie and Calvin jr.
Thank you, but you still should be able to get the song. You can click on the link and then search “John Gary” at the top of the window, or you can go to youtube.com and search for John Gary - Once Upon a Time.
The October 5 link works for me, too.
Enjoy the snow and cold! Brr!
“I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm” …I wish!
Now Dad should have Calvin sit on his lap, and he can read Calvin a “Once Upon a Time” story.
And over here, ladies and gentlemen, we have the area of the house in which the famous shoot-out between Calvin and his father took place….please don’t forget to visit the gift shop in the kitchen on your way out….
puddleglum2 I will check it out later! (maybe tomorrow!) And just so you know I absolutely will enjoy my snow and cold!! LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW!!! =)
What 6 year old didn’t have grandios ideas??? I know I did!!
steve26 said, about 16 page turns ago:
That’s exactly what I was wondering! With a son like Calvin getting into trouble every time he turns around if you don’t watch him like a hawk … I’d say it probably *is* still the same book from a few days ago!!!!!
Calvin’s plans of being the richest man alive someday are something that should definitely be nurtured and encouraged by his parents!!! Even if he doesn’t earn as much as he’d like (or expects!), he’d still be out there striving for that dream and taking care of himself, which is something they should want for him as well as themselves! Too many kids these days are just lazy boomerang slackers sponging off their parents because they have absolutely no ambition whatsoever to support themselves. Why should they when they’ve got their parents to do that for them? I say: You *go*, Calvin!
wasnt there another CAlvin and Hobbes strip in which calvin mentions once again this wealth there are probably tons calvin sure thinks alot of him self
Good point. But knowing Calvin, hard work would probably be his method of last resort in trying to get rich!
We need to start our own book club!
GretchensMom, I don’t really agree with encouraging Calvin to become the richest man alive–Calvin has plenty of other dreams, and most or all of them fit him better. When I was young, I had dreams of going into politics and becoming a great statesman–for all the wrong reasons, and it definitely didn’t fit me. Being rich (to be rich) wouldn’t fit Calvin any better.
Far better to find a fulfilling dream, and get engaged in it, and then he won’t notice the work, or the riches that may come from it.
i love clavins face in 3rd panell!!!!!
the polls are always bad, that wont change it much, its always at rock bottom
