    Even more odd-sometimes an advertiser will insert an image of their product into a show or movie for a few frames. You don’t physically see it, but it registers in your brain. So, if you watch a show and you suddenly feel thirsty, you know what could be going on.

    It was actually disproven that such advertising had any effect at all, and the messages aren’t technically illegal in the US but can result in the broadcasting company having their license away by the FCC.

    Silly that there aren’t more laws regarding advertising. Especially those “Sponsor a kid, or you’re a terrible person who eats baby seals, and are soley responsible for global warming” commercials, and similar. I could go on and on about false advertising of course, but…

    Nowadays, a 15 second commercial exceeds the American attention span by a good 30 seconds.
