    Hobbes’ tail is very expressive.

    Mom lays down the law to Dad for once!

    ++++

    Calvin has yet to learn discretion, even with Hobbes.

    Eventually he learned to wake Hobbes—or at least mess with his dreams—with cookies.

    This is what happens when you wake a sleeping tiger…

    Isn’t that the old saying? “Let sleeping tigers lie” (actually they should be honest if awake or asleep).

    Love the drawing of Hobbes when Calvin wakes him up.

    This is hysterical! I’m reminded once again why Watterson is a national treasure.

    Ha ha. At least you learned a lesson Calvin, NEVER, AND I SAY NEVER EVER IN YOUR LIFE, wake up Hobbes when he is in deep sleep mode.

    I’m surprised that Calvin didn’t visualize himself as the giant ground sloth Megatherium, since it and the saber-toothed cat (not “tiger”) coexisted in South America during the Ice Age (Megatherium was about 5 feet high at the shoulders; the saber-toothed cat Smilodon populator, 4 feet, with 10-inch saber fangs).
