    I once heard that the Soviets allowed the 1812 Overture to be performed in the Soviet Union . . . but they removed the theme of the “Marseillaise”!

    What Calvin’s imagining right now looks like something out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon, ending with a pile of rubble where the concert hall used to be. I have to admit, there is a certain appeal.

    I used to think classical music was boring. Then I realized it’s just that radio stations and concert halls tend to make the worst choices on what pieces to play.
