Buckles should ride upfront in an open bow boat. He would really enjoy that.

From what I heard, It’s not safe for dogs to ride with their head out the window in a moving car, because they could get hit by any kind of debris, not just bugs.

Bugs can be an occupational hazard for dogs having their heads out, but it’s worse the occasional pain…..

I had VW Thing. A lot of times, I would drive it with the doors off, and the windshield down. I would wear my ski goggles. Only got pegged by a bug once.

I once rescued a beagle (of all breeds, since I have had 3 now) who was roaming around. I put on a collar and leash and then called the police. Surprisingly, they called me back in a while because a man had called them regarding a beagle who had jumped out of the window of his truck. I called the man and agreed to take his dog to meet him at the fire station I could walk to. He got his dog back, along with a bit of a kind lecture on how high up his truck window was and how far down it was for his dog. He was advised to keep his windows up or his dog at home. I had the two beagles I myself had at the with me. He was a sweet dog. I would have kept him if no one had claimed him. I would have still made every effort to find his home.
