Why not? It’s a woodwind, just like the sax.

Still better than yesterday’s bagpipes.

But on it’s smaller relative… Oh, boy!

Wikipedia article has a big chunk of information on the bassoon as a jazz instrument (while admitting it isn’t common). If you can use it for jazz you can use it for the blues…

But, yeah, it provides a timbre most blues instruments don’t have.

I certainly would love to hear it!

Interesting idea, I wonder what it would sound like!

Whats with all the negativity on bagpipes and banjos???? I’m form the Appallachians and currently living in Scotland, and I’ve always loved both of them. I even like accordians, at least the way they are played in Mexico.

But Broomie looks so good in that disguise.

Search “jazz bassoon players”. Prepare to have your mind blown.

But they are on a buffoon.
