Always wondered why these characters have furniture and electricity when they don’t have a house

I had a full dumpster turn over from a dust devil here in Arizona. Scared the bejesus out of me. I was looking out the window, suddenly saw nothing but brown dust, and then heard a loud sound. Looked out the window and the dumpster was on it’s side.

When Hurricane Hugo blew through central NC, my brother lived on Lake Norman. He said he was worried about his boat at the beginning, then the house as the wind increased. When a metal canoe that had been chained to the boat house flew over the house like a projectile rocket, he thought he and his dog were going to die. Both came through although there were five large hardwoods that landed on his outbuildings, and one on his house. That whole area and Charlotte looked like an atomic bomb had gone off. High winds are scary.
