I’m thinking that private schools may be the only realistic option for regular kids. Too bad our kleptocracy with built-in pyramid scheming won’t allow that.

The USA is rapidly evolving backwards. After the inevitable civil war coming to you ask Canada to invade to get you back to a reasonable normality.

    Another shocking and factful comic.

The trapper-keeper background is a nice touch though.

I have been looking at other countries for retirement. I have trouble with learning languages, I have tried 3 and did not learn enough to talk to anyone in that language. Pathetic. So I finally decided Canada or stay and resist so we might take back the USA. I will stay to help save democracy American style with improvements.I would still like to go back to Canada for vacationing, it is a nice place with nice people. And most of them are not crazy.

The governor of CT was screamed at during a Board of Ed meeting because he doesn’t want people’s kids to DIE!! The parents were outraged at him for that. Pro Life Republicans is all I can think.

    It hasn’t worked.

since the 60’s, American culture, media and film industry has fed its public a steady stream of mistrust and hatred of the government, society and religion. well today these chickens have come home to roost.

Thanks, Brian. Just what we all need. A little taste of how ignorant people can be.

This quote from Carl Sagan’ The Demon Haunted World" is making the rounds" ‘I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or my grandchildren’s time — when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantative content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.’

BTW, 20% of COVID hospitalizations are now children. Must be Biden’s fault.

But (by golly, by gawd) we got our freedom from vaccine and mask mandates, which is just like the Nazi holocaust!! Get yer guns!

Republicans finally got their dire prediction come true about “Death Panels”, only not the way they screamed about it being because of “Obamacare”.

Nope. It’s from Triage, where they managed to overwhelm hospitals with the unvaccinated dead and dying, sucking up space from other critical-care patients. Ironically, it was “Obamacare” that saved many of them from financial ruin.

‘member those “good ol’ days”, when Republicans and Sarah Palin were literally screaming about “Obamacare” killing everybody?

That spittle-flying rant of “It’ll KILL your parents, it’ll KILL your grandparents, it’ll KILL …”

Their “Death Panels” fantasy is now the reality of Triage in overwhelmed hospitals.

Ain’t it “funny” how their own malfeasance and criminal negligence has killed hundreds of thousands, and they keep on killing people today, while “Obamacare”, in many cases, actually saved their (expletive) butts?

“Funny”, too, how they’re begging for “socialism”, in the form of gubmint aid, to bail them out of their own messes. And still they always blame Democrats.

In reply to the parent in the last panel: Does your child have a bedtime? Do you make them take baths or showers? Do you require them to wear a seatbelt in the car? Do you insure that they eat vegetables? Clean up their rooms? Play well with others, and master all the other responsibility tasks that Robert Fulghum outlined in his popular book “All I Really Need to Know, I Learned in Kindergarten”?

If you answered yes to the questions above, you should see that asking them to wear a mask isn’t any different.

If you answered no to the questions, you’re well on the way to raising a whiny, entitled brat – formed in your own awful image – who has no idea how to function in a civil society…

You really got to question the sanity of people who get downright violent about the “issue” of Critical Race Theory (CRT) being taught in K-12 schools, when it was never taught in K-12 schools, but was an elective class in some legal colleges.

Freaking out about non-existent CRT is right up there with freaking out about non-existent Sharia Law, and “They’re gonna take away your guns.”

And violence against school boards and health care providers because of masks?

Like I said, what do they all have in common, besides stupidity?

    MAGA

“Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; / Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, / The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere / The ceremony of innocence is drowned; / The best lack all conviction, while the worst / Are full of passionate intensity.”

^ ^ sorry, we’re not ready to give up.

Yeats’ poem – or any poetry_, is not read by predatory Republicans. The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst. Are full of passionate intensity. Surely some revelation is at hand; blah blah blah.

Nice words. But will it feed your family or deter the plunderers, murderers and rapists?

    I don’t think so.

Good stuff for keeping kids out of school, so we can have more of the uneducated voters that the GQP likes… and an added touch, get some educators deathly sick so they can’t do that liberal teaching that “we know” they’re doing… a win-win for people who like a weakened America…
