I’m thinking that private schools may be the only realistic option for regular kids. Too bad our kleptocracy with built-in pyramid scheming won’t allow that.
I have been looking at other countries for retirement. I have trouble with learning languages, I have tried 3 and did not learn enough to talk to anyone in that language. Pathetic. So I finally decided Canada or stay and resist so we might take back the USA. I will stay to help save democracy American style with improvements.I would still like to go back to Canada for vacationing, it is a nice place with nice people. And most of them are not crazy.
The governor of CT was screamed at during a Board of Ed meeting because he doesn’t want people’s kids to DIE!! The parents were outraged at him for that. Pro Life Republicans is all I can think.
since the 60’s, American culture, media and film industry has fed its public a steady stream of mistrust and hatred of the government, society and religion. well today these chickens have come home to roost.
This quote from Carl Sagan’ The Demon Haunted World" is making the rounds" ‘I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or my grandchildren’s time — when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantative content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.’
In reply to the parent in the last panel: Does your child have a bedtime? Do you make them take baths or showers? Do you require them to wear a seatbelt in the car? Do you insure that they eat vegetables? Clean up their rooms? Play well with others, and master all the other responsibility tasks that Robert Fulghum outlined in his popular book “All I Really Need to Know, I Learned in Kindergarten”?
If you answered yes to the questions above, you should see that asking them to wear a mask isn’t any different.
If you answered no to the questions, you’re well on the way to raising a whiny, entitled brat – formed in your own awful image – who has no idea how to function in a civil society…
“Buying a fake vaccination card is an act of desperation by decent law-abiding Americans who have been forced into a corner by tyrants.”— Fox News’ Tucker Carlson
“Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; / Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, / The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere / The ceremony of innocence is drowned; / The best lack all conviction, while the worst / Are full of passionate intensity.”
Good stuff for keeping kids out of school, so we can have more of the uneducated voters that the GQP likes… and an added touch, get some educators deathly sick so they can’t do that liberal teaching that “we know” they’re doing… a win-win for people who like a weakened America…

Another shocking and factful comic.
The trapper-keeper background is a nice touch though.

Abolish the Public School System!
It hasn’t worked.
Only rich kids deserve an education.

Thanks, Brian. Just what we all need. A little taste of how ignorant people can be.
