It’s more of a crisis of emigration. Once we’ve managed to get a significant number of Afghanis out of Kabul, THEN we’ll have a refugee crisis.
No one will notice the start of another refugee crisis on top of all the others.
Give the Afghan refugees AK47’s and let them know they can have Texas, or Alabama or Florida if they want them.
Brilliant! Captured the essence of every one of them!
This was a doomed s***storm since the get go (even before the aid to the “freedom fighters” in the 80’s), and nobody did anything, said anything. And that goes all the way back to Bush#1’s CIA days (long before he was VP). But now everybody’s losing their shiznit because somebody finally did something or even anything after as long as over 40+ years ago when we first started dabbing in the waters -after the CIA got reamed by the Church committee and needed to do something, anything in a hurry to save face. Jumpn’ Jesus on a pogo stick, where was the outrage then?
NO ONE seems to want to remember who GOT US INTO THIS MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE, DARTH CHENEY and his puppet, the shrub. He needed SOMETHING to pump up the profits from HIS HALLIBURTON STOCK!!
Afghanistan became an open carry state without the 2nd amendment or the NRA
The killing and maiming of American and other troops in the battlefield will end. For the time being.
I wonder who would have received the heart that Dick Cheney got. That takes my mind off getting people out of Afghanistan for a brief moment.
inviting the Taliban for a sleepover at Camp David, arranging Russia-friendly future plans in Afghanistan & enjoying in epstein’s mansion what is promised to suicide bombers in the hereafter is not doing nothing. Orange Goon is democracy’s bomber.
The Industrial Military Complex milked this war for all its worth. Biden is a comfortable fall guy.
Every war ends with a refugee crisis.
A fair and balanced Toon from McFadden, Who Knew.
Ret. GEN Hertling implied it best; what’s happening now is a NEO that has gone FUBAR. Evac of American citizens, non-Afghan foreign nationals, Afghans with US permanent residence visas should be priority. Next should be those that worked directly for the US and NATO in advisory liaison capacity like the interpreters and their families. Those that worked for the Afghan gov’t may just not be so lucky to get out and that’s a consequence of US negligence and corruption.
Trump didn’t ignore this, he caused it.
I still remember the first day we met. Charlie Wilson coming into my office, going on about this mountain country in the middle of nowhere kicking Soviet ass. Giving me a number and telling me we should hook up.
If there’s a hell I hope Charlie’s in it.
