IF you carry a “smart phone” with you everywhere you go, it’s not only Fakebook that tracks your every movement!! The NSA, the FBI, the DHS and other agencies that are not even in the U.S.A. also do!!

Hard to censor free speech on private business sites in the U.S. The real problem is people who are too lazy or prejudiced to research claims they find on social media, and just accept them. If more people would do some homework before forming opinions, and reject the disinformation, the abusers would be far less effective.

I agree with everything here, but the Zuckerberg caricature could be more accurate.

Algorithm has become a magic word. It really means recipe. “Lather, rinse, repeat” is an algorithm.

Basically, but I have to say that considering the deep saturation rate of right-wing populists conspiracy nuts in my AO, I don’t think that any system could weed out all the nutdom.
