This reminds me of ads in comic books targeted to rip off children, only on a much bigger scale.

IF you carry a “smart phone” with you everywhere you go, it’s not only Fakebook that tracks your every movement!! The NSA, the FBI, the DHS and other agencies that are not even in the U.S.A. also do!!

“Here’s your sign…” (With thanks to Bill Engvall)

How convenient for Big Business and Big Government that we willingly buy and maintain our own “telescreens.” George Orwell would appreciate the irony of this turnabout of “1984.” Autocracy with a smile. Big Zucker Is Watching You.

People spread every aspect of their lives online, why would Gates need to spend money to add a mythical device to do so.

The company Signal tried an ad campaign detailing what Facebook knows about you to target ads. Here’s a link to an article: https://thenextweb.com/news/signals-instagram-ad-exposes-facebook-targetted-ads-data-collection

Hard to censor free speech on private business sites in the U.S. The real problem is people who are too lazy or prejudiced to research claims they find on social media, and just accept them. If more people would do some homework before forming opinions, and reject the disinformation, the abusers would be far less effective.

I agree with everything here, but the Zuckerberg caricature could be more accurate.

Algorithm has become a magic word. It really means recipe. “Lather, rinse, repeat” is an algorithm.

Basically, but I have to say that considering the deep saturation rate of right-wing populists conspiracy nuts in my AO, I don’t think that any system could weed out all the nutdom.

I wonder what the sales figures would be for an RF blocker that could be toggled by a pushbutton.
