As Earth’s internet amply demonstrates, you can communicate and not be intelligent.

I was hoping they’d do insects all week.

What did they expect the message to say? Offer technology secrets?

Poor Arecibo. It saddened me. But the YouTube videos of the collapse are, for want of a better word, cool.

The first transmission from an alien world, was to ask what would the cost of the new apartments be and what would earthlings accept in payment. It was a reply to a August 28, 1922, WEAF Radio station broadcast for the Queensboro Corporation, advertising a new apartment complex in Jackson Heights, Queens, near the just-completed #7 subway line. The transmission was received on Tuesday of this week, and NASA believing it to be a fake, did not respond. To bad the aliens were willing to pay a 1000 bars of Gold-Pressed Latinum for rent.

The person with the least to say is first and loudest.
