You never see what’s above if you only look down.
The alien high council has ordered the discontinuation of their “catch and release” programme as they no longer have to tag us. Now they just track our cell phones.
Now, if there were augmented reality Pokemons, …
No joke. Smart phones are credited for a sharp increase in pedestrian accidents.
Relevant XKCD, as a counterpoint:
What do you think the Alien is doing right now to maneuver his vessel that close to Earth’s surface?!? – Right: Don’t text and drive.
It won’t be for a while, but I predict a Harlan Ellison tribute by this strip.
The impulse that makes people stare at their smart phones all the time may not be a new one. I’ve been reading the 17th century diary of Samuel Pepys. He got around London mostly by walking, and he always mentions reading books while he’s walking.
Of course, the number of people literate enough to do that may have been smaller back then.
Yes, that’s the reason.
this might be funny if it were not true….
I go into a store and no one sees me, they are all on their phones reading and texting….sad
Funny scene in Antman and Wasp. Giant goes by a coffee shop in a hurry not to be seen but no one looks up from their phone so he’s safe.
The truth is out there.
Smart phones are the reason all right, every one of them has a camera that could capture the pictures / video that would be proof. Same thing with miracles, reports of them are way down to images on toast and unverifiable medical events. Amazing what the ability to provide visual proof has done to those reports.
But there are apps for tracking UFOs now. So we all should see an increase…
Unidentified Virtual Objects.
I thought it was because all the aliens stopped at the RU Sirius and couldn’t stop laughing. Or got eaten by Cliff.
This is more true than not.
