So that’s how the Galactic President candidates got into the ring.

Oh how I wish I knew binary….
There are 10 types of people in the world….Those who know binary and those who don’t.

What ever happened to Battle Bots? I thought that was going to be the wave of the future………

There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those that understand binary, and those that don’t.
@Digital Frog that’s one of my favorite quips. Unfortunately, those who don’t understand binary don’t get it. For another nerd joke, check the latest Foxtrot http://www.gocomics.com/foxtrot/2011/10/02
The funny this is that whenever there’s a computer/robot joke like this (especially in something like Futurama), the mechanoids speak binary. Very retro. It would be much more interesting if it was assembler. You’d have to pick a specific platform, but it would be just as fast, and you’d be able to debug the joke easier if the ’bot telling it got the punchline wrong.NOPJMP 0
I think the idea is that even the uninitiated recognize a string of ones and zeros as binary. If it were hex code or assembler, they wouldn’t even know what it was.
I have to deal with Fortran and Cobol, myself.
This is a takeoff of that Hugh Jackman Movie isn’t it? OR is the movie a takeoff of The Lee Marvin TWILIGHT ZONE episode of the same storyline? Hmmmm?

No Duotronic double bits?
I have an on again, off again relationship with binary.
I hope this doesn’t turn into “Brewster Rocky”.
