Jack Bauer should appear on every reality show & terminate anyone associated with it. It’s cheap exploitative voyeurism of agony, misery & greed. Keeps actors & real writers out of work too.
juke, you do realize that all of those “reality shows” still employ writers doncha? They sit around and come up with ideas for the “contestants” on how to make the shows more “lively and entertaining.”
This story arc is based on something that is actually happening. Satellite Galaxy 15 lost station keeping control and is drifting towards the AMC 11 bird. One proposed work around is to shift AMC 11away from the rouge satellite (but still within “the box” so that cable companies don’t have to realign their dishes).
Hmm… we could cross up signals and get “House/CSI”… oh, wait, FOX already did that; it’s called “Bones….”
(and therein lies the problem with this strip’s premise–just about every mash-up of even remotely successful TV show scenarios has already been done. If the satellites crossed up their signals, would we even notice?)
Thankfully I don’t watch TV (I stare at this little screen too long as it is), although that might change if I get Windows Media Center set up on my other laptop.
All the same, I’ve seen some online shows and think this mishap may be responsible for the fusion of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Godzilla that appeared on the former recently.

Even older TV shows are being affected; for six years we’ve been watching a mix of Twin Peaks and Gilligan’s Island. The result was called Lost.
