Oh, come one, Elvis … I bet this particular cactus doesn’t smell like pain, so you don’t need to fear it …

Look at that smile! Surely this cactus can be lightly pawed (for testing purposes, of course)

When I was a toddler I called cacti cat kisses because, well, they felt sort of like a cat tounge.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Puckmosis: We’re all from Egypt, from the court of Queen Catshepsut the Golden. I’m the Vizier, Puckmosis, my assistant Beatrixia, Royal Jester Lupinium, Royal Procurers Ta-Natash and Violet-Ifa, and artists Iron Glove and Adobe Style from Afar. So how did you come to own this pyramid.

Floofnet: You’ve probably heard that back in the day, King Katfre, son of Catfu, was trying to decide if he wanted to love or list the Great Pyramid his father built. David Visiting showed him this lovely pyramid, but ultimately the King decided to love the Great Pyramid after Hilary from Afar renovated it.

Bea: Were you in on the proceedings?

Floofnet: Yes. I wanted to retire as the Royal Chef and start my own culinary school. So I bought this Pyramid with my retirement savings.

Lupinium: What do you call it?

Floofnet: I call it the Ceiling Can be a Floor School of Culinary Arts.

Lupinium: I like it. Wonder if I can use that in my routine.

Puckmosis: Is it a challenge finding food?

Floofnet: Not really. Somehow we always seem to have what we need.

Violet-Ifa: (Assumes innocent expression, whistles) ♫♬…

Floofnet: So who’s the Royal Chef now?

    Puckmosis: Ever hear of Thomios?

Floofnet: Yes! He’s my great nephew! And a great nephew he is!Always knew that boy would go far.

Puckmosis: Would you like to see him?

Floofnet: I think I still have a bit of energy left to travel. But wouldn’t you like to visit for a bit?

Beatrixia: Sounds great. But first I’d like to tuck into this delicious breakfast!

    Stuck on you

I’ve got this feeling down deep in my soul that you think I’m obtuse

    Guess I’m not that way

    Needles portend

And the way I feel now I guess I’d better watch my tender rear end

    Guess I’m born that way

    Mighty stabs, don’t play

Typical cat – have something you don’t want them to touch and they can’t wait to shred it.

Got something you actually want them to go after and they won’t touch it with a 10-foot pole!

Yes, these cats have had some very bad experiences with cacti. Just tell it it is brave and you will be best friends. Although Burt would make more sense as the station researcher, I’m sure Goldie is the one acting calmly and making sense of another sudden plant in the living room.

Yeah, most cat scratchers I’ve seen shapped like a cactus have prickly twine that hurt the ungloved hand. Why do we want to hurt our cats like that?

Nibling got their cat a scratching post. Cat hated it, I brought it home with me. Fargo loves it, and scratches it 3 times a day, every day, along with the other cat furniture scratchers. Only cat I have who is allowed near it. Fargo does not share well with others. Except the single brain cell he shares with the Nibling’s cat.
