Now we know where Lupin’s been during the game show – lurking behind the couch until the excitement settles down. Reappearing just in time to wind up Elvis!

Goldie looks so happy with her crinkly brown paper. Foxy likes that occasionally too. She digs underneath it and pounces on it and then makes a mad dash for the back door.

Lupin is skiing down to the sky lodge for some apre ski refreshments.

Oh come on Mr. Elvis! I’ve had to ski all the way down to this lodge, and you won’t let me in?! Elvis, standing behind a hotel desk, sniffs and doesn’t look up from the hotel register. I told you, Mr. Lupin, there’re no rooms in my Inn!

According to my news feed today, “Ski home values have risen 17% despite travel restrictions.”. Elvis has .made a pretty good profit on his chalet so far!

The hitsies begin?

I have a shadow.

This one is small, furry, and black.

When I get home, this shadow meets me at the door, and I have to make sure I don’t open the door too quickly, lest the door hits him. This shadow helps me cook every night and sits on the vanity, and helps me shave. My shadow sits next to me while I write. My shadow follows me to bed and sleeps near me or is draped over me. Furthermore, I guess I won’t ever go to the water closet alone again because my shadow has to follow me into the bathroom.

We have had cats in the past that have bonded to particular people in the family. Belle bonded to Marie; Mittens bonded to Mac; Giblet was more my cat than anyone else’s, and so forth. But none of them have bonded to the level Hamilton has with me.

I have a shadow, and his name is Hamilton A. Cat.

Our cardboard gingerbread house arrived yesterday. It was only 4 or 5 pieces but the tabs did NOT fit into the slots easily. Once I had them all in, I taped down the inside with packing tape. Then I put the top of the house on and did the same thing.I put it in front of the fireplace and Blackjack went in right away. He went back in last night.

Something tells me this cardboard ski lodge isn’t going to last the night. :P
