That and the breeding.
Lol. Trouble with tribbles. I think I remember that one. Isn’t that when the Enterprise gets literally flooded with tribbles? Nice nod to two classic sci fi sagas.
Yes it is Pucky. They multiply and they’re very good at it. Exponentially.
Brilliant! One of my favorite Star Trek episodes by the way.
Ha! I love it! And a straight shot from Pucky, dead center in the joke!
Off I go to watch both “The Trouble with Tribbles” and “Trials and Tribble-ations”, preferably back-to-back, with “More Tribbles, More Troubles” into the bargain if I have time! …in the morning, at least.
And the “excellent guess” award goes to Sue Ellen, who said “tribbles” yesterday!
Eh, Star Wars, Star Trek, same difference (ducks head quickly! :-) )
Since the Man and Woman have Disney+, I’m betting that the cats and their friends will soon be doing their version of “Hamilton” with Elvis as Alexander Hamilcat and the Robber Mice will be the Schuyler sisters.
Aha, the Man also is fond of (certain) alien babies. I am surprised that the house is not packed with tribbles by now! You must never beam more than one aboard!
Is the man regrowing his “tail” now that access to the people groomer is limited?
I just signed up for Disney+ just so I can watch Hamilton. And maybe I’ll check in on the Mandalorian just to see what all the fuss is about. This is not going to be a permanent thing, so I want to get my month’s worth out of it. The one thing I absolutely will not watch is Old Yeller (hopefully they have consigned it to the deepest darkest never-show vault).
Ah, I didn’t realize it was a mixed marriage. Star Trek and Star Wars. Hope they had premarital counseling.
Oh dear… A Trekkie vs Star wars fan storm is brewing…
My favorite episode was that seldom re-run musical comedy episode. You know, “Nobody Knows the Tribbles I’ve Seen.”
Meanwhile Back on the Nile
Beatrixia: How you doing with the scrolls, Elvis-Anum?
Elvis-Anum: Just about finished, thanks to my spider friend here.
Petros-Parkner: It’s a cinch. All I do is dip a leg in ink and crawl over the papyrus. (Good thing I don’t mind getting my feet wet.)
Beatrixia: I’m going to Trevor-Hotep’s nursery with Sophititi and Maat-Tilda. Want us to take them along?
Elvis-Anum: That would be great. I was wondering how to get them there. Too bad there’s no one to deliver them all the time.
Petros-Parkner: Can you give Arachna and me a lift to the oasis? The locusts have a plague scheduled for tomorrow.
Beatrixia: Not a problem. We could do with more spider treats for the reception.
Elvis-Anum: How are you going to travel? Emma and Avenger are kind of busy right now.
Beatrixia: Emma’s maid of honor Tara is taking us.
WTF are tribbles?
Ah, it’s an SF mixed marriage! But how are you raising the children?♥ (I was gestated in the womb of a Trekkie, but that Trekkie also took me to see Star Wars when I was four years old.)
Oh, the Trials (and Tribble-ations) of life.
ST vs SW? Without help from Doctor Who, both are doomed.
OT. Went into hospital yesterday afternoon, back home this morning. Four little incisions. Sir Lancelot Spratt would have been very disappointed. Me too. I ran out of puns.
Hmm. I think “The Trouble With Tribbles” is the only episode of Star Trek I’ve actually watched. I’m pretty sure I fail as a nerd.
Good reference to the TOS episode. I believe DS9 revived it with a flashback episode where the crew from Deep Space 9 went back to that space station when Kirk and Company were there and Warf had to explain why the Klingons of the TOS era looked different. “It is a personal matter…..” our Klingon warrior stated and yes, he did not like tribbles either and Chief O’Brien got in a few digs on his friend.
I like the man even more. I just hope he doesn’t feed those tribbles…
I love the picture of baby creature alien in panel 3. It’s little green hands with 3 fingers splayed out and adorable bald head ( no hat) make me smile!
I’ll say it for the man. THE DOLL IS CREEPY!
LOL – the Woman covering the (creepy) alien space doll’s ears in panel two.
Puck’s little paw up to “shield” his whisper – so cute.
With all this SF love in the Household I’m surprised the cats don’t have names like Pyanfar, M’ress, etc.
I like both Star Wars, and Star Trek in all its incarnations.
OMC, Tribbles! The ultimate Squeeee!! And I’m with you, Man, I have a stuffed animal tribble too.
A Sci-Fi House Divided.
It’s the eternal Wars vs. Trek conflict.
I’m on Team Trek. Star Wars is dumb. OK, now I’m going to my bunker to hide from enraged Jedi wannabes for the next 200 years.
omygod its baby yoda
Geeks of a feather …
Live long…This is The Way.
So the Man has four tribbles? Or are the rest piled up on the floor?
Classic sci-fi vs. schlock fi…sure am tired of Star Wars—it jumped the shark years ago and being flogged to death on Disney.
It has come to this, toys over family.
Don’t read/watch sci-fi much, but very interested in outer space/the universe.
“I’m further than I’ve ever been from all I’ve ever known. Yet it seems to me I’m drawing closer to a space to call my own.”
The Man’s a Trekkie? Boo-yeah! I knew there was something I liked about him! :D
Good morning everyone, attention the women is addicted to the doll!
Okay, for those unfamiliar with Tribbles, here’s a quick clip from the episode on You Tube just giving the highligts (or lowlights) of it. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+trouble+with+tribbles&docid=608053711207469006&mid=444116442FEB21503D5A444116442FEB21503D5A&view=detail&FORM=VIRE
What are Tribbles?
A Cabbit is much more useful, and a lot cuter.
whats a tribble?
Today is Meteor Watch Day—and frankly, it’s wrong. There are no major meteor showers near this date. There is a Class II (Minor) shower, the alpha Capricornids, from July 3 to August 11. There are a few Class III (variable) and Class IV (weak) showers about now, but most people will not be able to detect them. The next major shower is the Perseids, July 17 to September 1, peaking about August 12. If you are somewhere without light pollution, they can be spectacular. We used to vacation about that time every year in the BWCAW, and between the Perseids and occasional Northern Lights, the viewing was spectacular.
So to end on a cheerful note: Somewhere out in space there is a very large rock with our name on it. Sort of puts things in perspective, doesn’t it? Have a nice day, fellow “dinosaurs.” 8^} (Yes, Robin is entirely correct. It’s only a matter of “time.” b^D
Syfy and cats? Yes!
Yeah ! Star wars and Star trek ! Stargate is great too:)
Surely she knows the psychological value of tribbles: “Pack up your Tribbles in a Star Trek bag and smile, smile, smile.”
Is the baby alien doll giving the Vulcan Salute in the last panel?
Had to Google tribbles! Guess I do live in a cave…… except for my “Go Comics” habit. Do seem to need a fix every AM.
For those who want to see tribbles, you can google You Tube – Tribbles and find a number of clips so in 3 or 4 minutes you’ll get the highlights of the episode.
okay this is funny! I’ll make sure to tell my Fraggles about it :)
I have a question of momentous import: Do tribbles have toebeans?
If so, Robin has been right all along.
Not Sunday funday yet, but it’s fitting, so….
If you slap Spock’s hand while doing the Vulcan salute, is that considered a “Sci-Five?”
Tribbles are based on Heinlein’s Martian Flat Cats from “The Rolling Stones.”
Tribbles and bits tribbles and bits.
I wonder where Burt stands on Star Trek vs Star Wars? His chyron is decidedly neutral.
I can’t get enough of “Star Trek.”
All of the speculation and sci-fi talk has me over here feeling very, VERY excited for the rest of the week to play out! Ahhhh! Sometimes I wish I could have all 6 daily strips post at once, lol!!!
I follow David Gerrold – the author of “The Trouble with Tribbles” – on Facebook, but unfortunately can’t comment due to the size of his friends list, otherwise I would link to today’s strip, which I am sure he would appreciate.
So the Woman and Man are a cross-cultural couple!??!!? Is that legal in every state?
OMG, Georgia! Talk about a mixed marriage!!! Fortunately I am a fan of both.
Baby alien on my shoulder makes me happy
Tribbles in Man’s lap can make me sigh
Baby in his blankie looks so lovely
Sci-fi almost always gets me high
If I had a story that I could tell you
I’d tell a story of galaxies far away
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you want to stay
Green doll on my shoulder makes me happy
Man’s lap of Tribbles makes me ask why
Green dolly in my arms looks so lovely
Sci-fi almost always makes me high
Songwriters: John Denver / Michael C Taylor / Richard L Dick Kniss
Ah, so a Trekkie vs. a Disney Wars.
I have a Star Trek Barbie and Ken.
How can he possibly think Baby Yoda is creepy? The cutest Star Wars character EVER!
It’s possible to love them both! (Looking at my Tribbles while pondering a Child doll…)
Perhaps the tribbles’ troubles require a doctor? (Dammit, Jim!)
My hubs and yours would get along very well. He has zero interest in Star Wars; meanwhile, I watched all nine canon Star Wars movies the first week of the quarantine.
Whats a tribble?
