Keep the shock pills handy. In 2 days, your doctor will call with the results of you tests. He’ll tell you to stop taking the $$$$$ pills and go get these $5 pills instead.

Usually what happens is the day after you have just gotten an expensive 90 day refill, they call to tell you that you need to change to a new different one.

Someone somewhere along the line switched from standard tablet ($8.00 for 30 days) to the exact same medicine but in a time release capsule ($60.00 for 30 days). After some investigating, I asked my Dr. to switch prescription back to standard tablet.

All I care is that I don’t have to pay full price for my medication. $8000.00 per dose. No, NOT a mistype.

The cost of meds is really crazy. I take just two prescriptions. One costs me nothing because its been around so long and the pharmaceutical plan I’m on takes care of it (normally its only about $11). The other is the really crazy one. It just costs me $21 at my pharmacy, but its retail is around $750. That’s up $200 from the original price before the formula was changed. The original formula was twice as strong, so the current formula needs to be doubled to do what it’s supposed to do. That brings the total to $1500/ month. Though, at my pharmacy I’d only pay $42/month. How my pharmacy keeps the prices down so low, I don’t know, and I don’t ask.
