The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for June 28, 2012
Transcript:
Huey: It's a wrap for the democrats. They'll continute to offer token resistance, but I think it's over for 'em. Politics is gonna be like computers - the Republicans are Bill Gates, and the dems are like macintosh. Caesar: What about Obama? Huey: He's like the ipod...clever, but not enough.

When it comes to raising money, the Dems are more like Remington Rand.

I’d be interested if Aaron were to update this strip.

the first panel is correct, even if Obama survives the huge amounts of money pouring in to defeat him. the rethugs have stacked the supreme court and effectively squelched enough minority opposition in swing states through voter suppression laws. they have somehow convinced enought of the blue collar folk to actually vote against themselves. and vote for the party that is completely devoted to helping the 1 %.this country, shortly, will be in complete control by the extreme right. god help us all. god help the rest of the world.

On the contrary, Obama proved to be the political equivalent of the Reality Distortion Field!

Those voter suppression laws still have me gaping. Isn’t that legalized election fraud? Is there any group that has launched a legal challenge to them?
We Canadians are pretty bland but if any politico tried this here, there would be a huge uproar.
I am not trying to be negative – I am just honestly stunned that this law exists. 8- O

This strip is from 2004, when Obama was no more than a blip on anyone’s political radar, and no one could have expected that he would take all the marbles only four years later. This is startlingly prescient.
