Babblin’ Bob Gorrell. The CDC did not say that outdoor masking was unnecessary. It said that, for the fully vaccinated, masking was unnecessary in many circumstances — but that, in particular, it should continue in circumstances where one mixes with members of multiple households and in relatively crowded places. Given that Biden has a retinue of Secret Service agents and, typically, multiple aides and officials, it’s prudent for him to continue masking.

    Trust but verify.

But even more to the point, be a good role model. Because there’s no way at all Benson and his ilk will take any damage from this… and the rest of us feel better when the non-vaxxers can’t harm us… or them… as much as they would prefer.

If Gorrell is whining about the photo the President took with a 4 year child, the President followed the science. Children under 16 haven’t been vaccinated and wearing a mask around them is the proper protocol.

You don’t need a mask unless you’re constantly surrounded by people.

Goofy Gorrell has no idea what he’s talking about. Wearing the mask protects others who can’t or won’t get a shot.

He’s just spouting FTucker Carlson’s drivel.

Ah, the GOP. Never afraid of a moment to bully someone who chooses to do what they feel is necessary for their own, and other’s, protection. If someone wants to wear a mask, let them. If you’re too stupid to figure that out and get “confused”, maybe you should stay away from sharp objects.

Either vaccines work for most or they dont. Science says they do. Thus masks should be unnecessary, period, inside or out if vaccinated. Those who wear masks after being vaccinated either don’t trust the science, or are afraid of being called out. Both seem to acting in fear. That is no way to live. I am fully vaccinated. My wife nearly died after her only Moderna. The doctor says the second would probably kill her.

Bob, I know this is difficult to grasp, but you can both ease recommended restrictions and AT THE SAME TIME continue to act as a role model for the country by wearing a mask. As a pastor who is now, thankfully, fully vaccinated, I don’t HAVE to wear a mask all the time. And when I’m outside with nobody around, I don’t. But though it’s not strictly necessary, I DO wear a mask when in close proximity to others even outside. It respects the possible discomfort of others and serves as role model for those who might become lax with masks even if they are not vaccinated. I DO trust the science, but I also respect human insecurities.

OK, Mr. Gorrell, please explain – in detail – the distinction between memory and plasma B-cells, CD4, CD8, and cytotoxic T-cells, and how they all interact with macrophages.

THEN, maybe, your toons will make sense.

How horrible to have a responsible adult in charge trying to model responsible behavior. Maybe republicans should stop wearing their seatbelts. Most people don’t get into crashes, so seatbelts are just another fascist plot to wrinkle your shirts.

    same Biden as:

    https://www.gocomics.com/bobgorrell/2021/04/06

    with a mask drawn on.

Many Americans simply do not trust their fellow Americans to keep them safe right now. Why do you think that is? is it because right wing media has spent the past year downplaying the virus and fighting against mask mandates? and now they are spreading misinformation about the vaccines, causing people to skip their second dose or avoid getting on entirely, and instead buy fake vaccination cards.

as others have pointed out, Biden is still wearing a mask to set a good example to Americans to take this pandemic seriously.

How many lives could have been saved if the previous guy set a good example? instead he was fine with a 9/11s worth of Americans dying each day.

Gorrell’s argument here is like Obama saying “look, we killed Osama Bin Laden, so now we shouldn’t have to take our shoes or belts off at the airport anymore, or take out our laptops and put them in separate bins, or go through body scanner machines.”

The longer it takes the majority of us to get vaccinated or to continue to wear masks until the spread of the new more dangerous variants slows enough, the longer it will take to return to ‘normal.’

You can argue all you want about ‘people making more from unemployment than from working,’ but the reality is many businesses are still suffering because people are still afraid of going out to places. By prolonging the pandemic, you are killing jobs. By not wearing masks in doors, you are destroying small businesses. What small business can afford to hire their full staff back right now, when sales haven’t returned to where they were before the pandemic?

You’re from that generation that probably told their kids “you kids these days have it soooo easy, back in my day I had to walk 15 miles to get to school, in the snow, uphill both ways”

and now you whine about masks being slightly uncomfortable.

Biden is doing SUCH a great job that Gorrell is reduced to “He’s wearing a mask when he really doesn’t have to” to find something to criticize.

Think about that: Bob Gorrell GETS PAID to criticize Biden – and THIS is what he has.

Not to mention being to only leader on a Zoom conference to wear a mask. I think I read that COVID can spread via high speed internet, so maybe we ought to rethink that infrastructure spending bill.

If the previous occupant of the Oval Office had modeled wearing a mask as normal behavior, hundreds of thousands of Americans might still be alive.

Evidently.. the vaccinations give you protection.. but NOT 100%. That 3~15% chance you can “catch” the COVID if in the presence of a contaminated person is a good reason to stay masked. Until the chance of meeting an infected person is close to zero.. I, will continue to wear my mask.

Isn’t it amazing how very anxious the Trumpistas are to label anything the Democrats do as hypocrisy? I’ve seen a number of their cartoons doing exactly this, so I guess it goes under the heading of projection.

My gawd, man. The CDC says in certain situations a fully vaccinated person doesn’t have to wear mask outdoors but still highly recommend they wear a mask in outdoor mass gatherings with strangers that may not be vaccinated. Reading comprehension used to be important. Even vaccinated medical personnel aren’t stupid enough to walk into a pandemic hot spot unmasked.

Laws about wearing seatbelts is a left wing longtime measure to control people and fund their government takeovers. Republicans should fight this invasion of liberty and cut out their vehicles restraining systems. If they are ticketed, fight the ticket or just ignore them. LONG LIVE THE FIGHT AGAINST LIBERAL RESTRAINT

I had to laugh when Kamala kissed her hubby ‘bye before hopping on Air Force 2. They’re married (obviously), outdoors, vaccinated and wearing masks. I honestly hope they were just being goofy but somehow I doubt it.
