THAT is what Gorrell got today‽‽

Well, I could wear that button: I’ve been voting by mail for more than 10 years, usually about one election per year, on average, more or less. And oh yeah: We’ve done the studies. The number of people who vote more than once in any given election — in the whole state — can be counted on the fingers of one hand… and usually just the thumb.

And, oh yeah, about 4 times in 5, any cheating that gets caught: It’s someone voting GOP.

In 2016, a T**** supporter was arrested for double voting, once by mail and once in person.

In 2020, a man attempted to vote twice by requesting a mail-in ballot for his dead mother; also a T**** supporter.

Republican denialism on the 2020 election mirrors the old (and apocryphal) story about Pauline Kael (film critic for the ultimate New York City elite mag, The New Yorker), who supposedly said “I can’t believe Nixon won. I don’t know anyone who voted for him.” Now it’s righties who cannot wrap their heads around the plain fact that Biden won fair and square because (thanks in part to ideological self-segregation) they do not know anyone who voted for him.

Intelligent people recognize these people as mental midgets who are too stupid to understand that the same voting processes that defeated Trump gave Republicans lots of down ballot wins across the country. Thank the gods that Mr. Gorrell — possessing such a brilliant mind and a rich, nuanced understanding of all things political — has the moral courage to expose this nonexistent problem: an esoteric one, you could say, that resides in the minds of his fellow Republican propagandists. He should not be distracted by the fact that the US military has been using vote-by-mail since the Civil War, that places like Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, and Washington vote almost entirely by mail, and 33 states and the District of Columbia having vote-by-mail as an option, all without any voter fraud problem. He has his master’s work to do and must be deeply thankful that he lives in a country that allows fools to draw cartoons.

Mentally ill republicans tend to forget that:

Trump, While Attacking Mail Voting, Casts Mail Ballot Again

President Trump cast a vote-by-mail ballot in Florida this week after months of questioning the security of the method of voting, and in doing so he returned it to election officials using a technique many Republicans say should be illegal.

Racist republicans are nothing but lying hypocrites.

Bob Gorrell knows the 1st Amendment affirms that his opinions will not be refuted by facts and empirical truth. Which is fine, unfortunately it echoes his treasonous pals in the right wing media and in the crime-family Republican Party. Those with blood on their hands. It might’s well come from the likes of Sputnik, Russia Today, and North Korea government TV – there really is absolutely no difference.

    @MT Bill “…they can’t prove it didn’t happen either.”

Please don’t feed the (expletive) trolls! This particularly obnoxious troll is using the Burden of Proof fallacy, which basically states that the absence of proof is not proof of absence.

An absence does not constitute proof of anything. Nothing can be derived from nothing." If I say, “Anything is possible” I must admit the possibility that the statement I just made is false. Any lawyer who tries to posit a rumor as “evidence” in a court of law risks losing his license to practice law. And not even that treasonous a$$hole Giuliani was willing to do that.

But to these (expletive) trolls and their fellow idiots and prostitutes (like Bob Gorrell), their opinion is supposed to be all that is needed to refute facts and empirical truth.

So let’s analyze this. If various nut-jobs and trolls repeat the same lie, again and again, they become rumors, at best. After enough repetitions, like the ancient game of “telephone”, they become mere replicas of the original rumors.

Further, replicas would make them genuine, bona-fide copies of something that never existed in the first place. Therefore, we can assume they are “authentic” in that regard, as genuine bull$hit. And trolls, like Bob Gorrell, thrive on bull$hit.

It’s depressing to think that Gorrell is as benighted as Bill Barr, both of whom seem to be unaware that there are five states in which ALL balloting is by mail, and there has never been so much as a whiff of scandal.

I seem to remember Trumpo advising people who sent in absentee ballots to show up in person and vote again, “just to be sure”. I guess it’s a reasonable assumption was that these criminals would be voting for Trump.

The burden of proof is an interesting concept in legal matters. Take Hitchen’s Razor.

Hitchen’s Razor is an epistemological razor expressed by writer Christopher Hitchens. It says that the burden of proof regarding the truthfulness of a claim lies with the one who makes the claim; if this burden is not met, then the claim is unfounded, and its opponents need not argue further in order to dismiss it.

Hitchens has phrased the razor in writing as “What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.” Thank you Wikipedia!

Oregon has been voting by mail for two decades. One voter, one ballot. All tracked by barcode. Total incidents of fraud: less the ten. All address problems, except for the cases where GOP ballot counters were caught “correcting” ballots. In front of video cameras and they knew the cameras were there.
