Gorrell thinks China is behind the legislature to disenfranchise American voters. I bet he thinks it was China that attacked the capitol on 1/6.

Gorrell would’ve been okay with the Rump declaring himself president for life, like Xi Jinping did for himself in China.

Lessee now. What thing can I profitably compare Georgia to… Hmm, Oh, I know! I’ll compare a state in a democracy with a nation that’s (sort of) communist. THAT will make a lot of sense.

Apparently Gorrell doesn’t (want to) know that the US, EU, Canada, and Australia have jointly imposed sanctions on China over the Uyghurs that are a lot more severe than taking some sporting events away from them. And Winnie the PoohBah is quite pissed, even though the Georgia governor is throwing a bigger tantrum.

Goofy Gorrell has the wrong party identified with Chinese politics. After all, it’s the Republicans that passed a law in Georgia that allows them to fire local election officials and refuse to certify elections if the results isn’t in their favor.

And it isn’t Biden that had the secret Chinese bank account and paid China more taxes than the US, nor did he have children that had millions of dollars in patents with the Chinese government.

The republicans always have a fix where there is no problem. They say their laws are to stop voter fraud. When voter fraud is so scarce, trump’s committee disbanded because there wasn’t enough to make a difference. Now they want to fix electioneering at polling places by banning the giving of food and water. When there wasn’t a problem of electioneering before.

The republican commentors on this site keeping repeating “why don’t they take their on food and water”. Then there is my favorite from MTB, “why don’t they go to the concession stand”. Like he thinks they are at a ball game or something.

They can’t see the real problem is the long lines. The republican legislators should be working on ways to reduce the wait time to vote, instead of these stupid laws. They have the data from the last election to pin point where there was long waiting periods ti vote. No one should have to wait hours to cast a vote, it is Un-American.

If you have proof that Biden is somehow beholden to China, and that his policies favor China (especially in light of the last guy’s “trade war” with China that gave away the store and made us weaker all while getting millions in his private Chinese account) — show it. Otherwise, you’re just spreading lies. Again.

Meanwhile, we KNOW Georgia GQP is throwing human rights in the toilet. Again.

GOP governor Abbott boycotted Ranger baseball game GOP practices “cancel” culture all of the time. Canceled pro football because of players kneeling. Canceled Dixie Chicks. Called French fries Freedom fries. and on and on. They are the chief cancelers in the country. Incidentally, Trump said to boycott Cokes and was seen the next day with a diet Coke on his desk. More hypocrisy and false indignation on the part of the GOP

Empty Bill, you wouldn’t recognize the truth if it landed on your shoulder and crapped on your head. But I will try, so put on your MAGA hat.

China does not even pretend to have a modern, western form of democratic government. No one claims that, no one believes it.

Communism is an economic system, not a form of government.

Biden does not trust China any more, or less than Trump did. Unlike Trump Biden does comprehend that China has a HUGE market which cannot be ignored.

    same Biden as:

    https://www.gocomics.com/bobgorrell/2021/03/16

boycotts are about the only thing that work on the GOP. America voted, the GOP lost the presidency, and senate, so instead of the GOP regrouping and offering policy ideas that appeal to Americans, they are instead trying to make it harder for young people and people of color to vote. HR1 helps everyone democrat and republican. the GOP election law reforms only help the GOP.

if you want to require photo ID to vote, then make it free and convenient to get one, especially for those who don’t drive. Offices that are only open 9-4 on weekdays make that impossible for working people. Everyone over the age of 18 should be automatically registered to vote.

make election day a national holiday and day off work(replace Columbus day or Presidents day if you have to)

if you don’t want people voting by mail, expand early voting, and add more polling places so that no American has to wait more than 30 minutes to vote. 6-8 hour voting lines are a poll tax for working people.

if you don’t want to do business with China, you’d support raising taxes on corporations who ship jobs overseas right? The reason jobs are shipped overseas is to avoid paying a fair wage to someone in the United States. Capitalism has always been based on paying the least amount possible for labor, from slavery to child labor to keeping the minimum wage low.

I thought Biden supported MLB and its players making their own decision to move their all star game. Did Biden actually say that the whole country should boycott Georgia?

I also have not seen Biden enthusiastically support China – particularly its “cherished democratic ideals”. I do remember #45 boasting about having a great relationship with Xi Jinping, and him having bank accounts there and having his products made there… many corporations out-source jobs and manufacturing to China… odd how alt-rights feel superior to their opponents while they chide their opponents for doing the same things they do themselves (sometimes more than their opponents do)…

I don’t believe MB has yet come out and declared that he really believes that the new voting laws in Georgia are solely or even primarily aimed at “election integrity.” Apparently there are some obvious lies that he will not debase himself by declaring to be true. And he wants to be thought of as a conservative, not a fool.

China has long known that Democrats can be bought. Clinton was the most egregious President in this regard. Remember the illegal money laundering through China’s so called churches to the Clinton’s campaign back in the 90’s? Then there was Yah-Lin “Charlie” Trie’s $450,000 donation to Bill’s legal defense fund in 1996. The Clinton’s platinum credit card ‘charity’ fund got several million Chinese dollars in 2013 in anticipation of her run for President. A simple search will deliver dozens of articles where the Clintons received money filtered from China. Probably the worst incidents revolved around the Loral-China-Clinton triangle. Not only were the CEO of Loral and Bill good buddies but they were famous for quid pro quo back scratching. In return for corporate contributions of over $1.3 million to his campaigns, Bill had the the commerce regulations changed allowing China to launch Loral’s satellites saving them millions by not having to use American launchers.

Or…oligarch run Russia? And how many of the business moguls who ‘support’ the GOP have factories in foreign parts? Capital will always seek out lower wages and conditions, exploiting poor countries. Until the workers in those countries get organised, of course. Then we look for lower paid countries with tax incentives. As if low wages were not enough.

I guess Biden thinks it’s OK that Beijing is carrying out crimes against humanity and genocide against the Uyghurs? That 21 century concentration camps with over 1000000 people are just a matter of cultural difference?

Do you remember when the US thought Apartheid (a system of institutionalised racial segregation that existed in South Africa up until 1990) was horrible? We divested in anything that to do with South Africa, and Congress eventually passed the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986, which imposed economic sanctions against South Africa. Even though Black immigration into South Africa and standards of living were far higher than and other African county at the time, we still realized Apartheid was not right or just.

Why is Biden so unwilling to do the right thing to protect lives and human rights? Why does Biden not take forceful action against a despot who is knowing committing Genocide? Why does his forcing and imposing of identity politics stop at our boarders? Is it because the Uyghurs are lower than even white males on Biden’s identity politics intersectional totem pole?
