Birds are some of the greatest communicators on the planet. And, they’re evolved from dinosaurs. Don’t make them mad.

A guy in Juneau, Alaska, saw a raven imitating a car alarm. It did it several times just to see the humans come out of their doors.

When I lived in Virginia, Mockingbirds yakked all night. I’m sure they still do.

Watch out, now that kid is going to start singing about wanting a diamond ring and stuff.

Reminds me of the first mockingbird I ever saw/heard. There weren’t a lot of songbirds in our neighborhood, so it’s repertoire was limited to my mom’s car failing to start due to missing teeth in the gears, and cats fighting.

Reminds me of when I saw firsthand how starlings are also mimics. One spring a bad storm went through our neighborhood. The summer was filled with the sounds of circular saws and hammering. For several years after we had starlings who would sit on the wires and sing “knock, knock, knock, knock, whirrrrrrrrrrrrr” over and over. It was wonderful.
