BIOGRAPHIC Steve McGarry Natalie Dormer Born in Reading, Berkshire, England, on February 11, 1982, actress Natalie Dormer landed a starring role opposite Heath Ledger in 2005's "Casanova" within months of her graduation form drama school in London. The director, Lasse Hallestrom, was so impressed with her work that he had her part expanded in the script! Despite creating a huge buzz in the industry, Natalie found herself out of work for the next nine months! Following a role in the 2007 Demi Moore and Michael Caine movie "Flawless," she earned critical acclaim and a legion of admirers with her memorable portrayal of Anne Boleyn on the hit TV series "The Tudors." Anne Boleyn was the wife of Kind Henry VIII and mother of England's Queen Elizabeth I. Natalie subsequently played the mother of Queen Elizabeth II in "W.E." - the 2011 royal family drama directed by Madonna. Following a number of TV movies and recurring roles on the British TV dramas "Silk" and "the Fades," Natalie had a small role in the block buster superhero movie "Captain America: The First Avenger." Away from movies, Natalie - whose extracurricular interests range from poker to fencing - earned rave reviews for her work on the London stage. 2013 sees Natalie starring as Margaery Tyrell on the worldwide TV smash "Game of Thrones" and playing Irene Adler, love interest of Sherlock Holmes, on the popular TV series "Elementary." Later this year, she will be seen opposite Chris Hemsworth in "Rush" and alongside Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt in the thriller "The Counselor."
