Born in the small town of Tappahannock, on May 5, 1989, Christopher Maurice Brown was bitten by the music bug when he performed in talent shows with his cousins in Arkansas. Originally a budding rapper, he began to develop his singing talents from the age of 11. A chance encounter set Chris on the path to stardom. When a music producer visited the gas station where his Dad worked and asked about local talent, the proud Dad raised his sons' talent, soon 13-year-old Chris was living and recording in New York, and at the age of 16, he was signed to Jive Records. Released in 2005 his debut single "Run It!" soared straight to the top of the charts at home an dabroad his self-titled debut album hit the number 2 spot on the charts, and a string of further hit singles followed. The album earned Chris a grammy nomination and three Billboard awards, including artist of the year following a major headlining tour in the summer of 2006, Chris began work on his Sophomore album. "Exclusive" was released in late 2007, and spawned the chart-topping hit single "Kiss Kiss" Away from the pop charts, Chris has also carved out a successful acting career not only did he take a minor role on the teen drama "The O.C" in 2007, he was featured prominently in the movie "Stomp The Yard" this was followed by a starring role in the romantic comedy "This Christmas: The summer of 2008 saw Chris riding high on the charts. with the hit single "Forever" and romantically linked with chart-topping for princess Rihanna.
