If ever a star had universal appeal, it's Jessica Alba. After graduating High school at 16, she studied with William H. Macy at David Mamet's Atlantic Theater Company. Roles on shows such as "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "The Love Boat: The Next Wave" were followed by the movies "P.U.N.K.S." and "Idle Hands" as well as a role opposite Drew Barrymore in "Never Been Kissed," Jessica's big break came when she was cast as the lead in James Cameron's TV series "Dark Angel" Born in Pomona, California, on April 28, 1981, Jessica Marie Alba was raised in Mississippi and Texas before the family settled back in Southern California when she was 9. She had always dreamed of becoming an actress and took her first acting lessons at the age of 12. Within a year she was signed by a Hollywood agent. She made her movie debut in 1994's "Camp Nowhere" and appeared in a couple of TV commercials before she landed a recurring role on Nickelodeon's "The Secret World of Alex Mack" and avid swimmer's and certified scuba diver, she then spent two seasons on "Flipper" a series filmed on location in Australia. Within a short space of time, her stunning good looks had earned her legions of admirers the world over, following the movie "The Sleeping Dictionary" she invested months in dance and tae-bo training in preparation for her starring role in the 2003 movie "Honey" in which she played a hip-hop dancer. Starring roles in a trio of High-profile movies "Sin City," "The Fantastic Four" and "Into the Blue" made 2005 the most Stellar year in Jessica's career to date, all of which suggests that there are great things still to come!
