This strip is so sad.

whoa …this has left me speechless this is all so sudden this is undoubtedly one of the biggest milestones in the story of big nate other memorable ones were . when he met angie . when he met kelly . when artur first came to the school . when artur and jenny first went out . and now when jennys moved away .

i hope this storyline brings more things to the strip if jenny’s just gone and that’s that it means things have been taken away from the strip . but if jenny’s leaving brings up something new to the strip . well then it will be for the best . i cant think what it could be but that’s because im not an excellent storyteller like Lincoln peirce . i cant wait to see what he has up his sleaves for us . hes done an exelent job keeping big nate fresh over the years and im sure its no exception in the future .

ok, either jenny is gonna stay, or a new person is going to enter the storyline. I’m up for the first one

It’s hard for a girl to coldly leave “the little boy with the crush” as one of my fascinations at that age used to refer to me as. Jenny is just being kind as most girls would be under those circumstances. Artur is still her sweetie, not Nate.

Awwwww. That was the sweetest “good-bye friend” hug I’ve seen. Amazing how much a simple “moving away” story can affect me. It’s a normal part of life, but not in the comics. Well done.

if this comic was about some sweet well behaved kids then i wouldnt be reading it . it would be unrealistic and unfunny . it wouldnt make a good comic strip .

This is sad. A life lesson for all of us, I guess, losing someone that means a lot. I was expecting for Peirce to get out of it somehow.

i’ve just realised, all the people who wrote this when the comic first came out have no idea that jenny comes back. Wow, weird thought

This is really sad. His only love moving away. Her actually showing affection to him for the first time and then leaving with her boyfriend, Artur, which Nate has a love hate relationship with. And now he’s all alone. He still has Teddy and Francis sure but now he will never have a chance to win Jenny over again. Through all the attempt and fails, Nate never gave up on it and now he has to.
