My first job as an RN was in my small hometown hospital. I was “Vinnie’s great-granddaughter,” " Helen’s granddaughter, " and “Betty and Chuck’s daughter.” I also got tired of the sweet little old ladies to whom I was giving enemas and starting IVs telling me that they changed my diapers when I was a baby or mention some youthful exploit. I soon moved to the big city to get away from that as I hadn’t quite figured out who I was myself.
