Is that a bra-strap going over Rosemary’s arm, or is she in a perpetual shrug. If it’s supposed to be a strap, I think that it could be omitted, cuz it makes her look dumb.
It appears that Tom is as misanthropic as I tend to be at times. The “devoured” each other in the paragraph can take one a whole host of different meanings… all rather frightening at different levels.
