Yeah, probably because this dish requires one pan (or dutch oven) and exactly zero bowls of gloppy stuff. It’s just chicken, rice and seasoning with a few veggies. He’s making an entirely different meal!

A spectacular failure, because due to the disaster in the kitchen, I don’t expect much from the flavor of the dish.

My husband is Italian. I am not. I was given (well he was given and he shared it with me) the family “gravy” recipe. First time I made it alone I was terrified and followed it exactly. Now we are not suppose to have sugar (both Diabetic) so I leave it out. I don’t have hours to cook it – maybe 45 minutes at most. I use alternate brands of canned tomatoes.

He has never said anything about it not tasting right in 45 years.

Please clean up your mess. Don’t expect poor Tia Carmen to clean that up as well as eat your sorry arroz con pollo.

How to make a cook feel appreciated. Washing up hack: Soak the pots and pans in a sudsy kiddy pool in the back yard for a day then break out the power sprayer.

Looks like the kitchen after my late father-in-law cooked. Great cook, but used every pot and pan in the kitchen.

I can understand. I tried making Paella once. I have many good recipes in my wheelhouse, but this one isn’t.

That doesn’t look like how to cook any version of Arroz con Pollo I’m familliar with. To be fair my exposure is ony having lived in the Housotn area for 30 + years and visited various parts of Mexico a few times, most of which don’t fix that style of cooking, but…

Spectacular failures have often times led to great successes for me in the kitchen. Sergio will get there. Like me, he will clean up his messes.
