Time-clock – you punch in when you get to work and punch out when you leave. It stamps a time card for book-keeping to pay you with. He is starting his “Family” job of resolving issues.

Gee, are time clocks really that arcane already? I know a lot of places today have readers for the stripe on an employee’s i.d. card and some even an RFID reader to reads the card automatically as you come in.

I remember those in the lab. We had to punch in at the start of the work day, punch out for lunch, punch in again after lunch then out again at the end of day. Lunch wasn’t paid, but breaks were, so no punching then.
