Going to college to find a husband is not a bad strategy.

Even before I retired, I did my own laundry. We taught our kids at a young age how to do their own laundry— though for the dryer we had to wait till they were tall enough to throw clothes in and get them out without a stepping stool. Wife’s rules. For sheets (we all did our own towels) she tends to do them at her own schedule whenever they bother her. But I make our bed after they’re washed, and the kids had to make their own, so folding wasn’t really a thing with sheets.

In the era before disposables, I think my mom washed diapers every day.

Go to the laundromat and throw stuff in the machines and separate some stuff. Then throw it all in the driers and sort of fold it when it comes out before I shove it all back into the garbage bags. Takes about hour and a half no matter how many loads. My sister in law seems to being doing laundry on a 24/7/365 basis. The machine seems to never stop when I visit.

Hammie, when you get older you will understand the true, deep felt meaning of the term, Spin Cycle, Spin Cycle, Spin Cycle.

My wife and I didn’t go to college to find a spouse. Fortunately for me, we found each other and have been married for 47 years.

For better or worse, probably worse, reading this strip reminded me of a recent K.C Chiefs player’s college commencement speech.

Household chores, regardless if you work or not, we all got to them unless you can afford a maid. Time to teach Hammie and Zoe a new skill.

I’ve heard it said “If you do a job right, you don’t have to do it over.” This doesn’t seem to apply to laundry, lawn-mowing, or dishwashing.

I don’t know, I find a certain satisfaction in keeping on top of laundry. It’s actually my favorite domestic chore.

Wanda, your kids are a little too short to get their clothes into and out of the washer, but you can still make them do their own gathering, sorting, and folding.

Did I just fall into a 1950s black hole? I did this demographic survey in another cartoon I follow. How old are you and where do you live? I’m a 73 year old female living in San Jose CA
