Well Darryl and Wren are having a good time. Hammie and Zoe not so much. Very bored.

Low tech fun. I do hope those aren’t rain clouds in the distance.

Hammie, Zoe, have you played with anything which doesn’t require batteries?

I would have expected Wren to be more interested.

I sure hope that he does not fly that kite into a tree like some people I know.

Looks like the kids are too tech-inclined, flying a kite is lots of fun!

The problem here is that the kids have to do things like this themselves to feel any accomplishment, and they’re too young. Watching dad isn’t fun.

If Darryl wants to really amuse them-especially Hammie-he can pull a Charlie Brown and fly it down a nearby sewer.

I don’t believe it. I think kids would still have fun doing that.

Give teh string to Hammie ans Zoe and tell them they can start fighting when the batteries go dead.

Looks like Wren is going to have a date with the vacuum cleaner and the bathtub.

Kites have filled some of my favorite memories

Too bad zoe and hammie don’t have batteries then if the wore ou daryl could say sorry we ran out of batteries

The kids across the street still love it when I pull out my kite. But then their parents actually fit the word, they were not raised on tv and video games. All of them have activities of their choosing, most play sports, mainly soccer as well as cross country and track. If they are inside they are usually baking or curled up with a good book.

No batteries, Hammie. Just wind power.

Charlie Brown triumphs at last…

Kids know NOTHING about the generations before them. Soon no one will remember WWII or Vietnam, the Civil War or any thing of value.

At least Hammie seems interested.

Three bored kids.

My wife and I would tape the cutter from a Saran Wrap box onto one wing and ‘dogfight’. Got to the point shhe would kick my butt !

Next time, just take Wren. She can have fun doing anything! (Even if it isn’t what you planned.)

Watch out for the kite-eating trees!
