Growing up my Dad & I always wrestled, but the first time we tried it when I came home from boot camp he flew over my head and landed all spread out on his back. I did it without thinking and was as surprised as he was. Well maybe not quite as surprised. That was the last time we wrestled.

It’s a good thing the legs missed the nose Darryl. It might take surgery to fix that big honker.

Was teaching Hammie martial arts a good idea Darryl? Second thoughts?

Well at least it appears that the money paid for the lessons is well earned.

Don’t try this on anyone over 30, Hammie!

Darryl’s nose gave Hammie additional leverage by adding move frontal weight.

When I took a Judo class, one of the first things we worked on and learned was how to fall and land (absorbing the shock) so as not to get hurt.

Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
was Jujutsu FightingHammie was fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But he fought with expert timing
There were funky Japanese men from funky Japantown
They were throwing them up
They were throwing them down
It’s an ancient Japanese art
And everybody knew their part
From a feigning to a slip
And a throwing’ from the hip
Everybody was Jujutsu Fighting
Hammie was fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But he fought with expert timing
There was funky Hammie-san and little Trent-kun
He said, here comes the big boss, let’s get it on
We took the bow and made a stand
Started swaying with the hand
A sudden motion made me skip
Now we’re into a brand new flip
Everybody was Jujutsu Fighting
Hammie was fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But he fought with expert timing
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoh,ha
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoh, ha
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoh-ha
Keep on, keep on, keep on
Sure enough
Everybody was Jujutsu Fighting
Hammie was fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But he fought with expert timing
Jujutsu fighting, had to be fast as lightning…

I remember trying out a judo move I had just read and tossing a friend, Robert Coleman, on the ground. Most embarrassing. I didn’t expect it to work.

Just a little farther, Darryl, and you can hook your feet behind your ears.
Men always seem to appreciate that move when women perform it!
