This is so right on!
UP down, it’s always at the other end!
You know you are getting old when you need a quart of water to take your morning pills.
Does it matter? at least you can still make it up or down the stairs.
When your hair has gone from parted to departed; when your teeth are like the stars (they come out at night); you give up all your bad habits and still don’t feel good.
When you develop a health problem and all your doctors say, “Sorry, there is nothing we can do to fix it, you will just have to learn to live with it.”
“I don’t like the look of that, we better biopsy. Let you know in 2 weeks.”

I’ll make it upstairs and sometimes forget what I went up for. But never do i confuse which direction i am headed…so i guess i still am in decent shape!
When you’re really getting old, the confusion happens when you’re halfway up the stairs. Or . . . do I mean halfway down?
Works for being adult ADD too. I’m also old enough to be like Aunty so I get to have twice the fun.
no steps inside my house…just 2 outside my front/back doors…
We have a custom at our house. Something lying on the top step needs to be taken downstairs. Something lying on the bottom step needs to be taken up. It works well.
Worse yet, is not remembering why you just stood up.
I’d get upstairs and ‘What did I come up here for?’ and then remember it when I went back down.
Or you can’t do stairs, period.
For me the decision would be based on what part of my legs hurt the most. Different muscles doncha no…
Why did I come in here?
You don’t need to worry until you can no longer remember whether or not there IS an “Upstairs”.
