Reusable produce bags are much easier to open.

Hold the top of the bag between your palms and rub back and forth very fast. They almost always come apart.

I would place thumb and forefinger together on one end and move them relative to each other. If the plastic between didn’t move, I would try the other end.

(If that failed, I would slowly sob until some older lady took pity on me and opened the bag for me.)

I still can’t get those tiny plastic bags to open. Arlo is a genius.

It’s actually easier to get the wrong end open, most times.

My fingers are too dry to get purchase on the plastic in order to ruffle it enough to separate the layers. I don’t want to lick my fingers because I’ve been pushing the cart and nobody knows where that thing has been. If I’ve already bought something frozen I’ll pick it up like a pitcher going to a rosin bag.

Since Covid, I carry a small spray bottle of alcohol. Instead of licking my fingers, I spray them with the alcohol. Works like a charm.

I grab a sanitary wipe at the cart area so when I visit the produce section (generally first section) I can “wet” my fingers enough to open the bags.

Y’all realize you build up immunity by introducing bacteria into your body. Too bad so many BILLIONS lived long healthy lives before covid.

The produce bags SHOULD work easily; it is the fault of whoever makes the bags. Our Safeway stores have easy to open produce bags. The produce bags at Raleys SUCK!!!!

Safest way to open the bag without licking your fingers, the wipes at the door for wiping down the buggy, get a couple extras, then use your wipe on your finger and you can open the bag then. Or most vegetables have an area where water is misted over the veggies, instead of licking your finger, use this liquid to dampen your finger.

You still have to rub them in between a folded scour pad in order to get them open
